I walked to the meeting place between the busses. They had all spoken quietly debating on our findings from last night. I couldn't focus on any of it. I kept glancing to my phone half expecting it to go off with another text from Theo who was under the alias of Louise. The name still struck a different chord I couldn't pin my finger on. Everything felt like it was hanging by threads. I constantly held the masked chemosignals, breathing, and heart rate. It was exhausting never letting down my focus. The hunger was a bitch to keep up with. The constant dull hum of an endless pit that needed to be constantly filled, had yet to be anything other than anxiety inducing. "I know we're all tired and miserable, except you," Scott said bringing my attention to Mason who stood almost attached to Liam's hip.

I smiled surprised. I hadn't expected Liam to tell him. He's been stressed about it for weeks. "This is so cool," Mason said with an infectious tone of awe and wonder. "I said you could tell him. I didn't say you could invite him to the inner circle," Stiles said trying to massage a stress headache away. "I'm in the inner circle," Mason asked. Simultaneously Liam, Stiles and I all answered. I gave and enthusiastic "yes" with two thumbs up as Liam opted for an "eeehhh" of non commitment and Stiles shut it down with a stern "No!". I gave him a look to say relax and lighten up. His look of stress said that we needed to be focused now. "So wait, Beta, Alpha, werechameleon, werecoyote, and you're a kitsune. I don't even know what that is," Mason said with a huge smile.

Scott shook his head rebooting as he said, "Anyways, keep an eye out for Tracy." "What happens when we find her," Lydia asked worried. My eyes unfocused as I stared at the ground between us. "I vote we put her down," Malia said. Theo would have an aneurysm if I let a chimera get murdered. Namely because it would get his ass kicked by the Dread Doctors. "We can't just kill her," I interjected. "But she's going to try and kill us," Malia noted. "While I agree on the not murdering part, she does bring up a good point," Stiles mediated. "Intense," Mason muttered mostly to himself. I looked up locking eyes with Stiles before looking to Mason. "Look, first we need to catch her. We'll decide what to do with her after," Scott instructed. I nodded agreeing. How will I explain losing a whole person?

I left trig to go eat something and just let the façade down for a minute. I stood at the sink still feeling the sting in my stomach. It never specified the pain had to be inflicted on other people. I extended my claws and sunk them into my palms. A relieved chuckle escaped me as it worked. I wiped the blood off and walked back out ready to go back to class. I can do this.  Liam rushed out of Mr. Yukimura's class headed towards me and the wing of senior classes. "Everything okay," I asked grabbing his shoulder. "Where's Scott? Tracy is in that classroom," Liam asked panicked. "AP Bio," I said letting the kid go as I turned for the room.

I hid in my locker and turned invisible before creeping out and pulling the fire alarm. I walked back to the locker piercing my claws into my hands to quell the sharp pains in my stomach. I pulled my sleeves down as I snuck out into Mr. Yukimura's classroom. Tracy was holding onto a girl's arm. They were the only two students in the room. The girl was the same one Liam had been talking to the other day. I motioned for Kira's dad to stay back as I cautiously walked forwards. "Tracy, let her go," I said trying to make eye contact. The other senior was completely spaced out staring through me from her seated position. Scott and Liam had just rushed in. "Tracy, look at me," I ordered. I grabbed her wrist and she let go of the girl, gripping onto me now. "Go," I said to small brunette. My eyes never left Tracy. She didn't seem to really be present almost as if she was in a trance or a night terror. Tracy stood up letting go. She stared above and behind me. "They're coming for us. They're coming for all of us," she warned terrified. She collapsed and I caught her midway. Something silver and metallic poured from her nose and mouth. I tapped a finger in it and examined it as Scott took her out. "Mercury," I said looking to Kira's dad who was the only one left in the room.
