TJ

I followed Lydia to Ange's apartment and it was empty. "Can you text Clara," She asked. I nodded and shot Clara a message. Hey w/ Lyd looking for you and Ange she had a premonition I followed Lyd to the car and Clara messaged back. Hi stayed at Liam's Ange had to go talk with a lawyer before going back to Melissa's I showed the phone to Lydia. "Okay. Do you want me to drop you off at school on the way," Lyd asked. "I really don't want to go in unless I have to," I admitted. "You don't want to face Nolan," she asked. I nodded quietly. He was so confusing. Fear makes people stupid and I don't want to see anymore stupid. Especially now he knows I'm supernatural. Not to mention Gabe has a hit for me.

We walked into the McCall house and it felt hollow. "Ange. Scott," Lydia called. She kept walking and a guy came out from the hall behind her. I screamed and charged tackling him. "TJ! TJ! Stop," Lydia shouted pulling me off. "It's fine. It's Malia's dad," Lydia said. "I thought Malia's dad was a homicidal maniac," I asked. "Key word being was. One of yours," he asked. "One of Malia's," Lydia said sternly. There was obviously a lot of underlying conversation between the short exchange already. I recognized the faces Lydia would sometimes use with her mother when trying to figure out how to handle me. "What are you doing here," I asked. "Looking for Malia," he said putting his hands on his hips, "What are you two doing here?" "Looking for Scott... Obviously," Lydia said. "And Ange... and Malia," I added. "Why," Peter asked. "Why are you looking for Malia," Lyds countered. "Parental concern," he said avoiding eye contact. I glanced to Lydia skeptically.

"Why didn't you just call Scott," he asked. "Why didn't you call Malia," Lydia asked. "Well we tried. But the calls stopped going through a few minutes ago. Lydia looked me with concern or shock. "What? The questions weren't getting us very far," I pointed out. "I like her," he noted, "And I heard there's multiple cell towers down." "Okay, that's definitely cause for concern," Lydia said. "It's more than that," Peter cut in. "Monroe and Gerard," I thought aloud. "They're cutting us off from the outside," Peter elaborated. "And from each other," Lydia added. "Which means they've already started amassing troops on their side," Peter said. "And we have no way to contact ours. Ange and Scott were calling in backup from all over," I pointed out.

Ange

I followed Scott and Malia to reach Deucalion among the shipping containers. A bang erupted and I whipped my head around to see Deucalion on the top of a container with his old walking stick. "Do any of you know the term for what I'm doing," he asked. "Echolocation," Scott and I jinxed. "You did your homework," Deucalion said impressed. "No I just remember sixth grade science when we learned about bats," I admitted. "I hope you don't think you can learn in just one day, what took me years to master," Deucalion said. I've had more experience than he might think. "We were hoping for maybe a few highlights," Malia said. "Or anything that could help us fight the anukite without looking at it," Scott added.

"Fighting blind is one thing. You haven't even learned to walk yet," Deucalion worried. "Then teach us," I countered. "An orientation and mobility specialist has to practice blindfolded with a white cane for at least a hundred and twenty hours before becoming certified," Deucalion pointed out. "Well I how about three shape shifters not worried about certification more so survival," I questioned. "Why aren't you running for your lives," he asked. "Because we don't run," Scott said sternly. "Now that sounds like an alpha," Deucalion said. My mind hopped to TJ proudly declaring the blind wolf an alpaca and I had to stifle a laugh. "I'm sorry. TJ. She-I'll stop talking," I apologized. "Let's get started," Deucalion said.

"Unfortunately there's one crucial difference in teaching you to fight blind," Deucalion said circling us. "We're not actually blind," Scott said. "Why does that matter," Malia asked. "Unless you spend the next few days walking around with a blindfold, all the anukite really has to do is get you to open your eyes," Deucalion pointed out. "So we'll keep our eyes shut," Malia said. "You think it's that easy? What happens to your eyes when your afraid," Deucalion quizzed. "You open them," Scott said. "And your pupils dilate to let in more light so you see more of your surroundings," I added. "Sending more data to the brain to better handle whatever threat lies in front of you," Deucalion finished.
