Katie's POV

A couple days later

-

I've been spending the night with Chris these last couple nights but today I have to come into work for a couple hours, which made me come home to get my uniform.

Speaking of which, I'm home right now.

Anyway, I'm grabbing my uniform.

I put it on and put my hair in a ponytail. I slipped on my shoes and walked out to the kitchen to grab my car keys.

"Katelyn, is that you?" I heard my mom ask.

"Yeah mom" I said, walking into the living room.

"Where have you been?" She asked. I sighed. There's no way I can lie about this and it being believable. Matty's still in school and his dads work, so I can't say I was over at their house.

I sighed heavily.

"Chris came up here from Pennsylvania, I've been spending time with him. Get pissed all you want but he and I are dating, we're happy together, nobody's gonna keep us apart this time. Yes, he met Matthew. No, Matthew doesn't know that Chris is his real father" I said. She just stared at me and remained silent.

"Mom, you okay?" I asked.

"I told you not to date him. He's nothing but trouble" she said.

"Mom, we were both stupid teenagers. I may have been stupid enough to sleep with him, you may think that he was just using me for sex. He wasn't, we both love each other." I said.

"He doesn't love you Katelyn. All guys use love to get into a girl's pants. He's using love to get down your pants and knock you up again" she said.

"He isn't using me mom! He wouldn't have came up to Massachusetts and sacrificed time with his family just so he could see me and meet his fucking son!" I snapped.

"It doesn't matter. Your father used me." She said.

"Not all guys are the same mom. What if Chris and I get married? Are you still gonna assume that he just wants down my pants?" I asked.

"You guys won't even last long enough to even have him propose. He'll get what he wants and leave you" she said.

"Whatever. I'm going to work. I don't have time to deal with your bullshit" I said before walking out the door.

I wanna cry. My mother has no faith in my boyfriend. He's literally the sweetest guy ever and she refuses to see that he makes me happy.
