To say Olivia was terrified would be an understatement. One minute she had been walking in the park in New York the next a disgusting alien creature had appeared in front of her and before she could back away the creature had taken hold of her hand and a beam of some sort had taken her to God knows where. As they landed her knees and ankles jarred upon connecting with the hard ground but instead of falling she was pulled along the dark damp corridor and thrown into a cell. As she spun round the door slammed shut with a loud clunk. She was cold and shaking so in an effort to try to calm herself and warm up she rubbed her arms with her hands.
Slowly her eyes became accustomed to the gloom so she looked around the room she had been thrown into. It was clearly carved out of the natural rock of wherever she was and although the air smelt damp the walls appeared dry. The floor again was just bare uneven rock, again it looked dry and in one corner there was what she presumed to be a place for her to sit or lie down. It was rough wood with what looked like straw on top. Slowly Olivia made her way over and sat down, as she felt tears well up in her eyes hugging herself tightly she took deep steadying breaths. After a few minutes she could feel her heart beat start to slow down "think" she mutters "think work this out what is going on?"
Her mind is whirling this had to have something to do with her father and the fact that she has found out who he really was. He was not from earth and whatever had brought her here clearly wasn't either so it had to be connected in some way. Jotunheim was as far as she had been told a cold planet covered in ice and the natives were blue Frost Giants freezing cold to the touch, but what had brought her here was neither blue in colour, freezing cold or a giant. The time passed slowly as she sat there huddled on the rough bed her head hurt from trying to work out not only where she was but who would have taken her and what time it was. Deep down she knew that Steve and the others would be looking for her but would they be able to get to wherever she was?
As the room grew gradually darker Olivia realised it must be evening and so tried to get some rest, it took a long time however for her to finally sleep. As she drifted off her left hand brushed against her right one and she realised that she was still wearing the ring she had found in the box from Helblindi. So holding it tightly she thought of the photograph of the two friends hoping that wherever she was in the universe he would hear her and try to find her, when she did sleep it was a very disturbed fitful nights sleep and so she awoke next morning feeling worse than the night before. She guessed she had been awake for around an hour when the door clicked open and what she thought was food was placed on the ground. Approaching it Olivia's stomach churned it looked like someone had been sick on the dish and the liquid in the container looked dark.
Picking it up she returned to the bed knowing that although it looked vile she had to keep her strength up and so attempted to eat and drink but although she managed to get the fluid down the food made her gag so she left most of it. Putting the things back over by the door she walked around the room trying to find anything that she might be able to use to get out. However there was nothing only rough walls, the bed, straw and the door having nothing to do made the time drag by slowly, the only way she was able to tell the passage of time was by the lightening and darkening of the sky outside. Using this method Olivia judged that she had now spent 3 days locked up in this small cell being fed and watered twice daily.
As she paced the room suddenly from outside she could hear footsteps and a chill ran down her spine at the sound of a click and the scrapping noise of the door being opened. She rushed back to the bed pushing herself back against the rock wall cowering away from the two creatures that came in. As they approached they roughly pulled her to her feet grunting and Olivia was repulsed by the smell of their breath. Yanking her hard they moved out of the cell and along the corridor not slowing as she slipped and stumbled. The passage seemed endless but due to the speed with which they were half dragging half carrying her within minutes they appeared in a massive cavernous room. They stopped and at a deep resonating command the creatures moved her forward to the front of a stone throne.
