Chapter 22 - Able to Perform Once More

Loki returned 30 minutes later and not long after that various foods were brought up for Olivia which were placed on the table in the main area of the room. After once more using his Seidr to help Olivia's throat they spent the rest of the evening curled up in each other arms reading. The next morning after breakfast Loki took Olivia out to the forest where the practised using her Jothun ice making abilities and once again Loki used his Seidr on Olivia's throat. By the time they arrived back for lunch Olivia's voice was much stronger which was good because as they arrived at the palace a carriage pulled up containing Helsa and Helblindi.

Once inside the dining hall with only Loki's family around Olivia shared hugs with them both before they all sat down to eat. The meal was an enjoyable affair with Helblindi and the Allfather discussing the trade agreement while Thor and Loki listened in, Frigga however was enjoying the company of Olivia and Helsa. After lunch Loki suggested that Helsa, Helblindi, Olivia and he go back to his chambers so that they can talk. Once there he pours them all drinks before relaxing next to Olivia on the sofa. "It is so good to be able to meet freely like this" Loki sighs contentedly.

"I agree, if you had told me but a year ago that you and I would be able to be in the same room with each other I would have said you were lying but to have come so far in such a short space of time is, dare I say it, heartwarming" Helblindi grins.

At this Helsa giggles "I hope your heart doesn't warm up too much I would hate to lose you so soon."

"I'm just glad I finally know who I really am for so many years I never knew anything about my real mother or father and although neither of them are here with me I feel happier knowing that they loved each other so much."

"It still amazes me how easily you have accepted the news, it had a devastating effect on my brother."

"I think if I'd been lied to like Loki was I probably would have reacted differently but I was merely not told anything. My aunt was too scared to even talk about it so I just knew that both my parents were dead. I didn't have any prejudice about Frost Giants to bring into the mix."

Loki squeezes her hand "you may be right about that."

"So" Helblindi asks "how come you are here I thought you said that Odin was no big fan of your friendship?"

"Olivia had a relapse of sorts and in so doing her Jothun heritage kicked in causing quite a problem while she was visiting Avengers Tower."

"The problem was that I returned home to earth before Loki had been able to help me control it properly. We only really got as far as controlling the change of my appearance, creating the weaponry etc. we only scratched the surface of. So when I got stressed out I just lost control, my Jothun form took over and I started creating ice everywhere not knowing how to rein it back in." She smiles weakly at Loki "Thor happened to be there at the time which was fortunate because he knew how much harm I could do to a human if touched. It took a while but eventually three of them working together managed to get close enough to heavily sedate me which in turn brought all my emotions under control so I changed back. Thor with the help of Frigga then persuaded Odin to let Loki come to earth knowing that once the medication wore off I could lose control again which I did. Loki was there that time to help me get things under control and by then Odin was so worried he asked him to bring me back here so that he could help me further with my understanding of everything and how to use it properly."

"Well I am glad to see he finally saw sense in that respect. So Loki I am presuming that we still have some work to do with regard to getting you the freedom to travel the realms."

"Alas you are right but this is a move in the right direction plus he is allowing me once again to help Olivia with her heritage and also her throat."
