Chapter 20 - Acceptance by Odin

Loki is happy that Olivia has chosen to return to Asgard with him but unfortunately Bruce and the others would not let her leave immediately. So after monitoring her for two days Bruce finally gives her the all clear so Steve flies Thor, Loki and Olivia back to her home in Canada so that she can check her home before leaving for Asgard. As he walks back to the Quinjet he turns to her "so promise to keep in touch if you decide to stay there for any length of time" he smiles at her "I'll make sure that Fury knows you are no longer on earth and that we have no idea when you will be returning that should keep him out of everybody's hair for a while at least."

"Thanks Steve and like I said this morning you have my spare keys so you can all use the house anytime you wish to as a holiday home away from Avenger's Tower, I'd rather that than it stay empty for any length of time. I can always give you a heads up if I'm coming back. I'll make sure that Helblindi is informed one way or the other that I'm on Asgard so he doesn't just turn up and worry that I'm not here. I've not told him about any of this as Loki seems to think he will take it as a personal slight on the Jothun race after all that's what Fury wants to use in some way."

"That's okay I understand he is King and to use the abilities of his race without their permission would be an insult plus he thinks a lot of you, but then Threy was his friend for a good many years. Hopefully next time we see each other your throat will be fully healed I'm still annoyed that only Natasha and Clint have heard you sing."

With a wave he closes the door to the jet and Olivia returns to the house as he takes off. Once back inside she enters the kitchen where both Loki and Thor are sitting drinking "so what happens now Thor" Loki asks as he takes Olivia by the hand.

"Well we can all go to Asgard together or I can go on ahead to ensure all is in place for Olivia and yourself to return."

Loki looks at Olivia "I think that we should all go together I still do not trust my temper not to show itself when I next see Odin in person" as Olivia goes to wash the glasses he stands "have you let Helblindi know what is happening yet?"

"No I was going to wait until we knew exactly what Odin meant when he said I could return to Asgard. Did he say any more Thor about how long this would be for?"

"No as I said when I returned the other day Mother and I were in the process of explaining to him what had happened to you, about SHIELD's renewed interest in you and your abilities I think he was surprised how your Jothun heritage had manifested itself so violently. It was then that he realised just how little control you have over it however, neither of us was expecting him to give in so easily but when he saw just how ill you were looking when we projected to see Loki in the medical room well" he pauses "as Loki told you he just said 'she must return' then walked back up to the throne. He said no more to us other than to excuse us from the audience, I then came back as soon as I could."

Loki walks over to Olivia "you are very pale are you sure you are well enough to travel today" he looks at Thor "maybe we should wait until tomorrow?"

Olivia puts her hand on his arm smiling weakly "it's okay Loki the sooner I'm back on Asgard the happier I'll be, even if it's only for a few days it will give the others time to deflect Fury's attention away from me somewhat." She gulps hard holding her throat.

"I think you have overdone things in the last few days" Loki puts his arm around her shoulders "once back and settled on Asgard I will help you with your throat again. It is working better than we hoped it would let's hope a few more sessions and you will once again be able to sing."

Olivia frowns "why is everyone so interested in my singing it's nothing special."

Thor laughs "that is not what Natasha and Clint say they are very enthusiastic about your voice it was the thing Natasha was the saddest about when Eir said there was a possibility you would not get your full voice back."
