Chapter 21 - Welcome Back

After Frigga leaves Loki uses his magic to change Olivia from her Midgardian clothes into Asgardian night attire then pulls the covers over her sitting down on the bed at the side of her to read while he awaits her awakening. It is nearly an hour later when he feels her stir next to him. "Olivia sweetheart" he leans over and caresses her cheek with his hand "how are you feeling?"

She sits up next to him "Shaky."

Loki swings his legs over the side of the bed reaching for the water jug pouring a glass then handing it to her "here have a drink" he watches as she drinks noting how she winces when she swallows. "If you are feeling up to it I can use my Seidr again on your throat we haven't had time today as yet."

Olivia's eyes open wide "but what about Odin, he was so angry last time maybe we should just wait till we go back to earth again."

Loki swings his legs back up onto the bed resting back against the pillows laughing "you will be surprised to hear that I have been given his permission to help you as often as I feel necessary" he places his arm around her shoulder "so do you feel up to trying or do you wish to wait until later? Dinner is being sent to my chambers in about an hour so we have some time."

"Wow" she shakes her head "did not expect that." She smiles at Loki "I'd like to try. I can't be sure but ever since I returned home I've struggled, some days it would feel really good but then there were others when I had difficulty even drinking."

"Why did you not tell anyone?"

She shrugs "I'm not really sure I guess at the back of my mind was the niggling worry that if I told Bruce or Steve that Fury would try to get involved somehow. As it turns out he tried that anyway" she sighs "I almost told you on Jothunheim but then we didn't really have much time to talk."

Loki raises his hand to stroke her cheek "well you are here now safe again on Asgard so if you would be so kind as to sit on my lap we can begin." Olivia gapes at him "what?"

"Sit on your lap but normally you sit behind me."

"That is true and if you do not wish to sit on my lap then I understand I just thought....." he pauses "never mind let's just do what we have always done." With that he stands so that Olivia can move forward allowing him to sit behind her, as she settles between his legs he leans close to her ear "relax back against me then we can begin." Olivia leans against his chest and places her hands on top of his feeling his Seidr flow into her, the now very familiar warmth of his Seidr the soft massaging effect on her sore throat. She turns her head to look at Loki "is something wrong?"

She smiles and softly whispers "no" to him but continues to watch him noting the way his brow creases slightly as he uses his Seidr.

"Olivia my dear has no-one ever told you it is rude to stare" he smiles as her own smile widens "it is very off putting having you watch me."

"Why?"

She is sure his cheeks have a slight pink blush to them as she feels his Seidr receding from her body, however he does not move his hands from hers "because I find it hard to concentrate with a beautiful woman watching me."

Olivia moves to kneel between his legs never losing eye contact with him then leans in to brush his lips with hers in the lightest of kisses "thank you but you do not need to flatter me I know I am no beauty."

As she goes to move away he places his hand on her waist stopping her, as her eyes return to his he pulls her quickly towards him "oh but you are the most beautiful woman I have ever had the pleasure to meet, anyone who says differently is a complete fool or blind." With that he kisses her "and tomorrow when you feel stronger we will not just work on repairing your throat but also we will do some tests to try to find out how long your life span will be" he slides his hand up her back and into her hair bringing her lips back to his. When he breaks the kiss he smiles "because I wish to know how long I will have the pleasure of your company for." Olivia can't believe what is happening she is unsure if she dares dream where this is leading, is Loki actually admitting he has feelings for her? Throwing caution to the wind she leans back in and kisses him and as he returns the kiss then deepens it she knows he does feel the same as she does.
