Beep, beep, beep, beep
I heard my alarm going off and let out an exaggerated groan. Monday had come much to fast for me and I wasn't exactly thrilled about it. I had spent most of the weekend trying to unpack and set up my room while taking a little bit of time to explore around town so that I could familiarize myself with where everything was located. Between doing those two things, I had actually met up with Stiles at one point so that he could show me around and introduce me to some of this friends, though Scott was the only one I had gotten the chance to meet.
Finally getting annoyed with my alarm clock, I extended my hand towards it and slapped the snooze button hoping to get a bit more sleep before I needed to get dressed, but unfortunately, that's not how things happened.
“Beth, mom says you better get up before she comes up stairs and drags you out of bed.” I heard my sister announce as she barged in my room. I had hold myself back from grabbing the nearest thing to me and chucking it at my door to scare her off
Deciding that I didn't want to get into a fight with my sister this early in the morning, I dragged myself out of bed and stomped around my room as I put on some clothes and put my hair up in a really sloppy bun. It didn't take long before strands of hair started to fall out, but I was too tired to really care about it. Once I was finally dressed and ready to go, I made my to my car and headed to school.
I slowly pulled into the school parking lot and saw it buzzing with students as they talked about their weekends and gossiped with each other. I stepped out of my car and began to walk towards the school and noticed that a lot of eyes were looking in my direction. I knew that I was the “new girl” and that it was expected, but I was already like a total outsider and I didn't really care for the attention I was receiving. I walked over to my locker and opened it as I studied my schedule and pulled out the books I would need and started to walk around looking for my first class. It didn't take me long before I completely gave up and asked the first person I saw which happened to be some red headed girl.
“Sorry to bother you, but would you be able to tell me where room 120 is?” I asked as politely as I could. I didn't wanna start off on a bad note
The girl twirled around and took a look at me as if she was silently judging me. By the looks of the boy that was standing next to her, I figured that these two were probably part of what people would call the “popular' group. I internally groaned as I waited for a rude remark from her.
Of all the people I could have asked for directions, I WOULD end up going to the popular girl. I thought to myself, but I was rather surprised by her comment.
“Sure...you must be the new girl.” she answered with a peppy voice. I was expecting...a less peppy attitude from her. “Jackson and I have to go their anyways. I'm Lydia by the way.” she added on and started to walk down the hallway.
“Um..my name is Elizabeth, but Beth will do.” I replied back as I trailed behind the couple.
---------------------------------------
Oddly enough, school seemed to fly by, and before I knew it I was in my car heading back home for the day. Thankfully my first day wasn't overly awkward since I didn't have to deal with teachers who insisted that I introduce myself to the class. I had learned that Lydia was indeed popular while Jackson was the lacrosse captain. Lydia didn't seem to be all that bad so far, but I could easily live without Jackson and his attitude. Other than having those two in my first class, I had Stiles and his friend Scott in my third class as well as a girl named Allison that I had seemed to get along with while the rest of my classes I had yet to really talk to anyone. I think I've started off this school year pretty damn good if I do say so myself.
