Hey Lydia, it's Beth. I was just calling to check up on you and see how you're doing. I know that you're probably going through a lot right now and that you're probably tired of people “checking up” on you, but just know that I'm here for you if you need someone to talk to and I'm pretty sure Allison is here for you as well. I hope things look up for you, I really do...
I ended the call and then carelessly tossed my phone on my bed. I ran my hand through my blond hair as I paced around my room and thought about everything that had gone down a couple of days ago. While I had been off interrogating Derek and trying to piece things together, Lydia and Jackson had, had a close encounter with the creature that was said to have caused all the murders around here. I truly felt bad for Lydia, I mean having a mountain lion jump out of a window by you isn't exactly anything I would ever want to experience.
Allison and I had stood by and watched as Lydia tried her best to make it seem as if she was okay and nothing had really happened, and while most people believed her little show, I could see how terrified and shaken up she really was. Stiles and Scott seemed to be interested in Jackson as well since he saw the creature up close and personal, but for some reason that made me question what really happened. It seemed like nowadays anything Scott and Stiles seemed really interested in made me question stuff since I was still trying to figure out what they were sneaking behind everyone's back...hell, even Allison had suspicions against Scott now.
~~~Earlier in the day ~~~
“You do you honestly believe that Lydia is okay?” I heard Allison ask me as she placed some food on her tray.
“Not really. I mean I know that she wants everyone to believe she is, but I think she just doesn't want anyone to see her down.” I replied as I followed suit and placed an apple on my tray.
“I wanna be there for her but I also don't wanna force her to talk about it if she's not ready, you know?” she continued on as we followed the line.
“Yeah, I know what you men. I'm gonna try to call her tonight and let her know that we're here for her. I would say it here since we're having lunch with her, but I think it would be best if I talked to her about when there aren't a ton of other students around.” I started to explain to her as she nodded her head a bit.
“Probably a good idea. Maybe we should check up on Jackson as well.” she suggested as we finally paid for our food.
“Well, according to Stiles and Scott he's doing mostly fine. He's just been a bit...spacey.” I said while I rolled my eyes.
“Wait, they talked to him?” she questioned me and gave me a look of confusion.
“Yeah. Apparently they're suddenly interested in him even though they've never wanted anything to do with him before.” I continued on. We were now starting to walk towards the table we were to meet Lydia at.
“You know, I think Scott is hiding something from me. I know he hasn't been 100% truthful with me.” she stated with a stern look.
“I don't think it's just Scott. I think it's Stiles as well.” I commented as I gave a hard look at the two boys who were sitting together and chatting.
~~~Present time~~~
I plopped down on my bed next to my phone and thought about the conversation Allison and I had, had today in school. I let out a frustrated sigh as threw myself backwards onto my bed and looked up at my ceiling. I had originally thought that there was definitely some odd things happening here in Beacon hills, but now...things were just getting really crazy and I was starting to think that there was more behind all the events that had happened since my mom moved us back here.
