My eyes slowly fluttered open as I wearily looked around the white room and noticed a few machines running. The light in the room was bright enough that I felt like I was being blinded and had to squint my eyes until they adjusted. The next thing I noticed was that I was in a hospital gown and that I had some tube attached my arm. W..what happened to me? Oh my god, what about Lydia?! I thought in a panic as the image of Peter morphing into a werewolf and running at Lydia played in my mind. Dazed, confused, and worried, I winced when I suddenly heard the shrill yelp of Abigail fill my sensitive ears.
“Oh my god Beth, you're finally awake!” I heard my sister announce as she rushed over to my side.
“Finally? How long have I been out?” I asked her with worry laced in my voice.
“Don't worry, You've only been out maybe a couple of hours. What happened?” she questioned me as concern took over her features.
“I...I'm not totally sure.” I replied to her with hesitation. Though I didn't really 100% know what had happened, I did know that it most likely had something to do with Peter and that I couldn't just tell my sister that a werewolf probably attacked me.
“Well, it's okay now. You're okay, and I'm sure Lydia will be okay as well.” she stated. That made my attention jolt back to my friend.
“Oh my god, Lydia. Is she okay?” I started firing at her with worry. Since I had blacked out, I didn't have the faintest idea what had happened to Lydia.
“Well, um...Lydia's lost a lot of blood and s...she looks pretty bad...” she trailed off as I imagined the worst scenario.
“I need to go see her now.” I stated bluntly as I went to take the tube off of my arm, but Abby quickly grabbed my arm and stopped me.
“You can't just do that Beth! The doctor said you suffered a really bad concussion. You need to stay in bed and let them take care of you...” she said as she loosened her grip on my arm. I knew she wasn't going to give up, so I did what I thought I needed to.
“Fine, I'll stay. I can always visit her once the doctor gives me the okay to go.” I started to say. Abby looked relived at my answer, which only made me feel guiltier about what I was about to do. “Um, would you mind getting me something to eat and drink from a vending machine or something? I think my stomach is about to revolt on me.” I added on.
“Yeah, I'll be right back, okay.” she answered and then left the room as she walked down the hall looking for a vending machine.
Once that I was sure she was a good enough distance away, I carefully took the tube off of my arm and swung my legs over the side of the bed before standing up and exiting my room. I silently scurried through the halls hoping that I would get lucky enough to find Lydia's room before my sister came back but right as I was about to turn a corner, I caught a glimpse of Jackson looking in through a room window. That has to be Lydia. I thought to myself as I started to walk towards him, but instead I hid by the wall as I saw sheriff Stilinski walk up to Jackson.
“Hey! What the hell happened to her?” I heard him ask Jackson as he roughly turned him away from the room so that he was facing him.
“I..I don't know. I..I went looking for her---” He started to explain, but the sheriff quickly cut him off.
“And you just happened to wander into the middle of that field...you just happened t find her there like that? Don't lie to me son.” he asked in a serious tone. I could tell that this was going in a bad direction.
“No, I---” Jackson tried to speak up, but the sheriff finally snapped and shoved him up against the wall.
“What happened to her?!” I heard him yell
