Car Chase

Things were definitely not going smoothly in any form of the word. A couple of days ago had been the full moon and things had sorta gotten a little out of hand. In the time that I had skipped the first part of school to have my little chat with Derek, apparently Scott had hallucinations and just up and left class in the middle of a test only to later catch up wit Lydia and make out with her. I was pretty baffled when I found out that he made a move on Lydia due to the fact that it was obvious as day that Stiles was crushing hard on her, so surely Scott knew that. Though Stiles has forgiven him since it was the impending full controlling him (note to self, the day of the full moon is sort of like a werewolf's PMS), I was a little mad that he had let it happen. To top of that night, Scott managed to get out of the handcuffs Stiles had him in and almost attacked Allison and Jackson.

I mean I could totally understand wanting to kill Jackson, but I'm not sure that he would have actually done anything to Allison but either way, Derek played a hero move and showed up just before he got the chance to do anything and was able to stop him. Other than that, the last couple of days Derek and I had come out that I finally knew what was going on. I had been spending more time with all three of them so that I could keep informed and at least be somewhat prepared for whatever was to come. Derek liked to be a hard ass, but even I've seen that there was more to him that the persona he likes to give off.Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that currently we're in a high speed car chase with hunters trailing us because we're using Derek's car to make them think we're him, and I'M FREAKING OUT!

“Faster?” I heard Scott ask. He had been the one who decided to drive.

“Much faster.” Stiles replied as Scott stepped on the pedal and sped the car up. But only a few moments later he added on to his sentience. “Hey Scott, I don't think you're grasping the concept of the car chase here.” he said with a bit of worry in his voice.

“If I go faster I’ll get us killed!” he shot back, but Stiles quickly replied.

“Well if you don't go faster their gonna kill us!.” he answered.

“Scott, I agree with Stiles. You need to speed it up NOW!” I shouted at him as I looked out the window and saw the car getting closer to us. Much to my relief, he sped the car up some more.

Now that there was some space between us and the hunters, Stiles took the time to turn on the police radio that he had. All units, suspect is on foot heading into the iron works] I heard the voice say as we sped off to the iron works in hopes that we could get to Derek before the cops or hunters got to him.

“We need to find him now!” I shouted as I looked out the window for any signs of him. Before I knew it we can to a screeching halt just long enough for Derek to shove himself into the car as the sound of gun shots could be heard. Oh god please don't hit the car, please don't hit the car... I thought frantically.

“What part of lay low don't you understand?!” Scott yelled at Derek. Things were getting intense.

“Dammit I had him!” Derek said with frustration.

“Who, the alpha?” Stiles chimed in as I brought my hand to my face.

“Yes! He was right in front of me but then the freaking police showed up.” he began to explain.

“Hey, they're just doing their jobs.” Stiles commented

“Now isn't the time...” I chimed in as Derek gave him a death glare.

“Yeah, thanks to someone who decided to make me the most wanted fugitive in the entire state!” he shot back as he looked at Scott.

“See, I told you this wasn't going to end well!” I cried out. Right now I just wanted to get away from this and go home where I didn't have to worry about being killed by an alpha or getting shot by hunters.

“Can we seriously get past that. I made a dumb ass mistake, I get that!” Scott replied in his defense, but Stiles soon interrupted again.

“Alright! How did you find him?” he questioned. Derek wasn't quick to reply.

“Can you just try to trust us for half a second?” Scott said.

“Yeah, all three of us.” Stiles added on, but Derek only gave him a stern look.

“Stiles...” I said cautiously as I placed my hand on his shoulder and started to pull him down to the seat.

“Or just him. I'll just be back here...” he said as he got the hint and sat down.

“The last time I talked to my sister she was close to figuring something out. She found two things, the first was a guy named Harris.” He started to explain, but the word Harris caught all of our attention.

“Our chemistry teacher?” Stiles and I said in unison. The last person I expected to be involved in any of this was a teacher.

“Why him?” Scott asked

“I don't know yet.” he responded.

After that he went on to explain the second thing which turned out to be the symbol of a necklace that Allison wore. The second that Scott mentioned that he saw it on her necklace I unintentionally gulped. Allison was a good friend of mine and I didn't really want her to be put in danger by being brought into it. I know that at first I had been really insistent on finding out, but if I had known that this was what I was missing out on, I wouldn't have pestered them so much to tell me. After out little Alpha discussion Scott and Stiles were dropped off at their houses so it was just me and Derek.

“So...you okay?” I asked him as I tried to break the silence between us.

“Yeah, why wouldn't I be?” he said back as if the whole night were nothing.

“I don't know, I mean you did get arrows and bullets shot at you while the cops chased you around town.” I answered sarcastically.

“Eh, I've dealt with worse before.” he said casually as he kept his eyes on the road.

The fact that he said he had dealt with worse before left me stunned. The worse thing I had ever dealt with was the one time I spent a night in jail for underage drinking, but that was it. Derek on the other hand had to deal with being hunted like an animal and never knowing who he could and couldn't trust. It has to be pretty sucky living like that. I had been so deep in through that I hadn't noticed I was staring at him.

“Why are you staring at me...” he stated as I was brought back to reality.

“Sorry, I was just thinking about stuff.” I replied and adverted my eyes away from him as he pulled up to my house.

“This it?” he asked, I only nodded in response.

I quietly got out of his black car and shut the door behind me as the cool night breeze dances across my face while blowing some loose strands on my hair into my face. I stalked to walk towards my front door and instinctively brought one of my hands up to brush my hand behind my hair, but for some reason I stopped walking. Instead, I stood their staring at the front door.

“Something wrong?” I heard Derek call out from his car. For some reason I was surprised that he hadn't taken off yet.

“Uh no, I just...I don't think I'm ready to go home yet.” I said without thinking.

I mentally kicked myself for saying that, but for whatever reason, Derek seemed to sort of understand and merely moved his head to the side and looked at his empty passenger seat before looking back at me. Without any hesitation I quickly backtracked to his car and sat myself down in the passenger seat as he took off down the road.
