The rest of the week went by pretty uneventfully. On Friday I had a product launch and the girls and I decided to go for dinner before heading to the launch party.

"Hey Dee-bear, Syd-boo."

"I can't believe I let you talk me into skipping work for dinner."

Sydonie shot her an annoyed look and said,
"Deidra, you are such a workaholic. In an hour we'll all be in the same party and we won't even see you. You have an assistant manager for a reason, he can take care of things I'm sure."

I nodded in agreement and Deidra sighed.

"Fine, I'll relax because mine isn't the only job on the line if the party isn't successful."

Sydonie busted out laughing as I fake glared at Dee.
I often used the club for product launches unless the client had another preference. I worked out great for both me and Dee.
She got a great commission from her boss because rental wasn't cheap, especially on a weekend & in return I got a great, familiar space to work with.

"For your information my job isn't on the line if this launch isn't successful. I'm great at what I do."

"Is that why Mr. Collins can't stop flirting with you?" Sydonie said with a smirk.

Then she and Deidra started laughing.

"Glad you guys find this funny. He's been getting a lot more friendly and I'm two seconds away from reporting him but I'm biding my time because I have bigger plans for our little 'relationship'."

The waiter then arrived with our meals that we had pre-ordered and Mr. Collins was forgotten.

"So Syd how'd little Mr. Dance partner go?

"Let's just say he had perfect hands and he's very giving. It was truly a perfect night.
What about you and Mr. Lightskin. By the way didn't you like swear off light skinned dudes?"

"I think at this rate I should swear off all men 'cause nothing happened. Like I keep trying to get laid and nothing. He was the perfect gentleman. Literally. He didn't even seem to struggle with the idea of a one night stand. I need new strategies before I go crazy."

"Or you could change your mentality, both of you. But especially you Syd. Would it kill you to go out on date with a guy and be in a normal relationship?"

"Thank you Deidra, with golden advice like that you should be in a wonderful relationship. Where your man at? Oh yeah you don't have one."

At Sydonie's outburst Deidra promptly left the restaurant. While Sydonie ate her mashed potatoes without a care in the world.
I headed outside for a smoke because Sydonie would be the death of me.

A/N If you don't understand the "hands" comment, sad.
Joking, but it's simple the proof is not in the feet but the hands. Get it? Got it. Good.

S/O to jupiterscript you made my week a little happier. Thankies.
