He stood at the door staring remorsefully but saying nothing.
"What are you doing here? You must be deaf. Is that one of the things got forgot to mention as well?"
"What's this jackass doing here?"
I turned to see Sydonie coming towards the door and Alex suddenly looked scared.
"I just came to apologize, I didn't mean for this, I mean I met you and really liked you. I didn't think-"
He stumbled over his words.
"Look, it's too early in the morning for your crap okay. It's simple, you have a wife, you were looking for sex, a side piece, I dont care what. The fact is I'm not the one so you may leave now, apology or whatever not accepted but no hard feelings."
I walked away and heard Sydonie slam the door, most likely in Alex's face but I didn't care. He woke me up early to upset me and I wasn't amused.
Looking at the time I decided it was best to just get the day started so I headed to the kitchen.
"You okay Lil?"
"Yeah Syd, just one frog along the path."
"Okie, what are you making?"
And just like that she knew I wasn't lying. I was fine, I'm happy I found out before I took things between us seriously. It saved me a lot of time.

My weekend went perfectly despite the early Saturday morning interruption, the girls and I actually turned the entire weekend in an impromptu family weekend with a barbeque on Saturday night and we planned to attend church on Sunday morning as a family.
We were really a close knit group so only people we really cared about were invited to the barbeque. It was basically us girls, Mari, Megaa, Marcus, Deidra's boyfriend, Ryan, and Mari's friends Tyrese and Troy who'd also be in the wedding party with us, Troy's daughter, Ziya and two of my other girlfriends.
All the persons here except my two friends and Ryan would be at the wedding, no doubt. The atmosphere was lively and I found myself drawn to Marcus most of the night, the conversation was easy and then I remembered I had something to talk to him about.
I signaled to him to meet me in the kitchen and thank God he wasn't slow and soon joined me.
"Hey, um, I was just wondering by any chance do you know a Candace Helps?"
"Yes I do."
"Oh, I see."
Did this mean they were really on a date that afternoon? Did he know she was married? Was he the type of guy to not care about that?
"Instead of making assumptions in your head, why don't you ask me how I know her? Weren't you the one that slapped me for assuming."
I laughed softly, "yeah I'm sorry about that, how do you know her? If I may ask."
"Yes you may, I'll tell you anything you wanna know. If you say yes."
"Yes? Yes to what?"
"You already said yes so, she called me wanting to make a pitch on the new store campaign. I didn't like her she was way too flirty so I told her I already selected my marketing director so she and I would not be working together."
As I was about to ask him something else Mari came barging in, "Marc, basketball game's about to start, you in?"
"For sure, go ahead. I'll be right there.
So see you on Wednesday?"
"What's on Wednesday?"
I didn't recall us setting a meeting.
"The date you just said yes to."
I looked at his smiling, hopeful face and against my head's better judgment,
"Sure, see you on Wednesday Marcus."
"Splendid."
Did he just say splendid?
Did I just agree to a date, with a client?
Wait, did he just say Candace was asking to be his marketing director?
I felt uneasy about that bit of information and for once I hoped my intuition was off.
A/N Lila finally said yes to a date with Marcus!
What's she thinking about Candace? Is she right?
