"Damn I didn't know this whole proper dating stuff would be so time consuming, between my job, going out with Alex and helping to plan the wedding I hardly have time for myself. I didn't have this problem dating Ryan."

"You were just boning Ryan, there were no dates to be had, if his fiancee had ever known."

"Always the optimist huh Syd, and he wasn't engaged when they had their 'arrangement' so leave Lil alone."

"Thank you Dee."

Needless to say girls night out was going well. We had decided on watching a movie this week so currently we were in the lobby area waiting on Morgan to return from the bathroom so we could continue watching "How to be Single".

"I'm going to get more popcorn, and I know Morgan will want more as well."

Deidra and Sydonie agreed so we headed to the snack counter in deep conversation.

"So how's the 'proper dating' really going Lila? You've been going out with that Alex guy a couple evenings well."

Sydonie spoke up, "yeah, I thought this new direction was supposed to be your dating different guys so you'd get in the groove. Won't dating one guy lead into temptation to actually just have sex?"

"That was the plan but going out with him just kept happening. The first date was good, he asked me on a second and that just led to a third and fourth," I answered.

"All in the space of two weeks? What about if I set you up on a blind date? That'll at least help widen the pool."

I looked at Deidra like she had grown another head.
"Um, nah. I don't do blind dates. Didn't you set Syd up on a blind date from hell once?"

"Yes she did. Never again, he flirted with the waitress all night and then had the audacity to ask me to pay at the end of the night.
Don't do it Lil, its a trap."

Deidra mean mugged her, I laughed and Syd continued,
"What about Marcus though? He's a fine specimen of a man."

"He's a client, I don't want to mix business with pleasure-"

I stopped short because I realized the people in front of me was finally done ordering the entire snack bar, ugh. There was a sense of familiarity though and as they turned I knew why.

"Candace, nice seeing you here."

"Lila, yeah. I'm here with my husband actually. Date night."
Why was she gloating? I had no desire to be tied down. She was in bondage for the rest of her life and gloating like I cared.

"I didn't know you were married, that's... yeah."
I fumbled for a good word because I actually wanted to say it was unfortunate.

Her husband turned around and I smirked,
And prayed Sydonie wouldn't cause a scene.

"Baby, this is a work colleague. Lila, this is my husband Alex."

She smiled a big smile which I returned because all I could think was, oh, we've met.
