If me and my girls knew how to do anything it was party. Once yearly we planned and hosted a party called 'Heavenly'. It was usually given a colored theme, this year it was all white & we were siked.
Part proceeds were in aid of raising awareness for children's cancer research or patient recovery, basically any pediatric cancer issue that the Jamal Wade Foundation saw it fit to help fund. The other part we used the cover renting the club and such expenses.

Megan was in her third month of pregnancy and progressing well so it was perfect timing for her also.

As we spoke about our final
arrangements for the party I felt claustrophobic so I  excused myself and went out for a quick smoke.

"At some point we have to talk about it."

"Damn Mari, stop sneaking up on me. And I'm fine. Nothing to talk about."

"It didn't just affect you Lil, it affected me too. Almost cost me my life and everything I've worked for."

"Mari I said I'm fine. I wish everyone would let the past stay in the past and leave it alone."

I began to walk away so he said,

"You keep saying its in the past but no one will believe that until you start acting like it."

I inhaled the blunt and thought back to much easier times but I quickly pushed back the depressing thoughts and prepared myself for the long night ahead.

Much time for reminiscing tomorrow.

To say we looked good would be an understatement. The whole crew brought it.
I wore a simple, sleeveless, low cut, mid ribbed white top with a white wrapped skirt that fell just past my knees paired with strappy heels that went up to meet the hem of the skirt.
Deidra wore a faux fur top with white skinny pants paired with black ankle boots while Sydonie rocked flowy white pants with a white mid ribbed top, it had short sleeves and a tied design at the front. We stepped into the club with "Feeling Myself" being played, perfectly on point with our moods.

We were all in jubilant moods.
As we began to order drinks duty called as I needed to deliver my little speech to the partygoers.

"Eight years ago we lost our very dear friend to cancer. This party is hosted each year to celebrate life and living life with no regrets. Its not only about celebrating Jamal's life but to remind each and every person who attends this party that we only get one life and its not promised to see tomorrow, what we have is now. Live in the now. Help a child to live also and donate to the foundation. Just as how we never fail to do give you a chance to enjoy yourself at this event since its inception 8 years ago, give a child the chance of living now. Thank you. Raise your glasses with me please, to Jamal."

"To Jamal!"

As the crowd responded I couldn't help but smile. We would all be helping to give a child the future Jamal didn't get a chance to take and I was exuberant.

I spotted Morgan and Mari in all their glow and again fell in love with another outfit. Morgan wore a tall white dress with a split up to her thigh, side boob action in play and to say she looked stunning would be a downplay of the situation. Mari was in usual Mari style, fresh and on point in a simple white tee, jeans and tall grey coat.

Mari was scheduled to make a special presentation and in all honesty I tuned out until I saw him on his knees in front of Morgan with ring box in hand. I didn't hear her response but I vaguely saw the word "yes" on her lips.

Suddenly like a mighty wind my emotions came crashing down.
The walls around me seemed to close in as I recognized the longer we hide from our past is the faster it caught up to us and brought us to our knees.

A/N What were Mari & Lil talking about though???
Morgan & Mari engaged? Awww.
Is that why Lil blacked out?
