I stayed at my mother's house that night, and the next morning I went to the boutique she owned, we had our own 'bring your daughter to work day'. I really enjoyed the time I spent with her, I recognized we were a lot alike, that was maybe the reason we hadn't seen eye to eye on many things.

I had to meet the others in the evening so I and Simone drove back to Montego Bay in the afternoon.
The girls and I would travel back to the hotel with Simone and the guys would charter a taxi service.

We stopped at Morgan's favorite restaurant for a late dinner on our way back.

"I thought Zee and Megzz was traveling with you guys."

"That was the inital plan but we needed adult time so he'll come on Wednesday with his grandfather, and Zee will be on the same flight with her uncle," Mari said.

"Just in time for mom to get here and take over," added Morgan.

"Beautifully planned."

"Thank you, I give all credit to my handsome fiancé."

We made it to the hotel and settled into four rooms, two connected rooms for the ladies and two for the men.

"I'll share with Syd and Dee can share with Morgan?"

"Yeah no problem," said Dee.

"Who said I wanna sleep with your fat ass?"

"It's either my fat ass or Morgan. And she kicks."

"Oh yeah, I'll pass then."

"Plus you and Troy can't mess around if you room with Morg,"
I whispered to Syd who looked at me shocked and started blushing.

I just walked away smiling. We settled in our rooms and soon were all asleep.

The next morning we lazily got up around 10, got breakfast and prepared for our day on the white sands of the beach.

I'm the evening, after dinner with Syd, Dee, Marcus, Tyrese and Troy I decided to take a walk because Sydonie had hinted she wanted the room to herself. No guessing what she and Troy had planned to do; Deidra wasn't feeling quite well and Tyrese had gone to the 24-hour sports bar to watch some game.

The beach was quiet and I felt at peace. Whenever I was surrounded by raw nature I was especially happy and this was the epitome of it all.
I was so caught up in my peacefulness that I hardly realized I'd been joined by another presence.

"What you doing out here all by yourself beautiful?"

"Just enjoying the night, actually. You?"

"Same, my name's Jermaine by the way."

"Lila."

"Pretty name to match a pretty face, you probably don't even know how beautiful you are. By any chance are you here alone?"

"No she's here with someone. And she does know how beautiful she is, she owns a mirror."
I recognized the voice and inwardly laughed as Jermaine apologized for hitting on me and retreated.

"Hello Marcus."

"Pretty name to match a pretty face."

This made me laugh even harder,
"Leave him alone. What are you doing out here anyways, it's late."

"Couldn't sleep, I came for a walk on the beach and smelled your perfume. Why are you out here?"

"Syd wanted the room to herself so I decided to stay here and clear my head."

He laughed before responding,
"That explains where Troy went."

"I never said-"

"They installed themselves in the Mile High Club yesterday, I expected it much earlier to be honest."

"Me too."

We sat in the beach chairs in silence for a while.

I stood up and offered him my hand,
"Come on."

"For?"

"You came for a walk and I want to walk now."

As Marcus and I walked down the tranquil beach I had an epiphany. I could either continue to let him pay for Jamal's death, never knowing my real father, losing my job, everything I've ever been hurt by or I could give him a chance.
I could finally give myself a chance, to be loved again, to love again.

Wasn't it weird, in order to recognize we need a change we had to be almost beyond repair?

Marcus was maybe exactly who I needed in my life and it was time to give him the chance he had been asking for.
Throwing out my inhibitions and fears.

Whether I won or lost, the important thing was trying to seize control of my life.

Before I left mom had told me to embrace my future, because if I kept looking behind me I'd fall over what's in front of me or miss it.

"Can I tell you a secret?"

"Sure, don't you kinda trust me?"

"Don't use my words back at me Marcus, but I thought that you gave up chasing me. I actually came down here to try to figure out the best strategy to apologize for not calling you back and all. I was going through a lot and I should have been a woman about it."

"Can I tell you a secret, I'll never stop chasing you. For a moment I thought I'd give up but I really like you and I know that underneath all that hard Lila, is a Lila that wants to be loved. I understand why you didn't call, I didn't like it but I understand. Just don't do it again, please."

"Why not, did you miss me?"

"Hardly, but I craved your presence, I yearned for the sound of your voice, just a glimpse of your perfect face. I cursed myself for not doing this earlier also."

"Not doing what?"

He didn't verbally respond, instead he pulled me closer to him and kissed me once, tenderly. Then a deeper, more promising kiss.
We closed the space in between our bodies but still needed to become even closer.

I wrapped my legs around his waist as his kisses pulled me in even more, soon we were on the beach, laying in the sand, our tongues dancing with each other to the music of the island.

We kissed until the waves came up and wet us. That didn't stop us however, we just crawled upwards on the shore and continued to explore each other. When kissing became tiring we talked, and when we tired of hearing our voices we kissed, this continued until we saw the light of a new day shining through the clouds.

Then we sneaked back to our respective rooms, basking in the glow of our kisses.
