Upon flying home after the wedding my life became quite busy.
I looked into my father a bit and saw pictures Simone and his daughters had posted on various social networking sites. On one occasion I almost mentioned him to Simone, and on one of the now many calls my mom and I had, she was a bit baffled as to why I didn't make the next step and contact him."What's the sense mom? Answer me this, did he know that you had me?"
"Yes, and you know that, what's your point?"
"He had opportunity to find me if he wanted, we lived in the same house from I was three to nineteen years old. When he left he made the conscious decision to not even send a birthday card in all my twenty-seven years; I realize now that I was stupid for wanting him in my life because I wanted someone who pretended like I never existed. I'm fine, I'm at peace with it and I'll let sleeping dogs lie."
"Well as long as you are fine with it I'm fine."
"I really am. Mom, I have to go, I have an interview in 30 minutes and the court hearing's at 2. I'll call you after to tell you how it all went. I really wish you were here with me today mommy."
"I know baby girl, I love you. And happy birthday again."

"Guys you didn't have to here you know. I'd have been fine on my own. It's just the ruling, Jhanese already did the fun parts."
"Yeah but what kind of boyfriend would I have been to let you come by yourself."
"Aww she blushes," Morgan said joining the conversation.
"Shut up Morg. A'Mei, your mom is so annoying."
"Stop touching my stomach before she starts kicking please. I can't take it."
I looked over to see Mr. Collins looking at me with contempt and hatred, and let's not get started on his marketing director whose husband was behind bars for burglary, assault and possession of an illegal firearm. Even if I didn't win this case today I'd be fine, but winning would make me a whole lot happier. Collins would learn he couldn't mess with everyone he felt he was entitled to. Maybe Candace would even learn she shouldn't screw her way in people's jobs.
I glimpsed over at them again and Candace gave me the finger, I simply smiled at her immature ass and turned away. I saw the judge enter so I had no time for her stupidity.
"All rise..."

"I'm so sorry I can't be there with you tonight babe."
"Remind me again why you can't be here?"
"My mom isn't feeling well and I have to fly there tonight, and you didn't want to meet her yet. Don't worry we'll celebrate all weekend, I promise."
"Fine, we better."
Marcus and I had made it official about a week after we got back, so we'd been exclusively dating about two months now. We still hadn't had sex yet and I was starting to wonder what was up. I knew he had no problem getting it up, I felt him harden after many a kissing session but he always pulled back before it got much further. This weekend we were to drive up to where we had our first date and come hell or high water we'd be getting it on...

"So it's just me and you for dinner?"
"Yes Lila, how many times will ask this question. I asked Dee, she couldn't get off work, Morgan backed out at the last minute something about the baby, Mari opted to stay with her, you already know about Marcus and your mom couldn't get a flight for earlier than Monday. I'll make sure you enjoy it though, dinner then clubbing like we aren't getting old."
