"School starts in a week.." Kaneki looks at me expectantly as I sip my coffee.

"So?" I ask.

"So... Are you going?" He replies.

"I can't go back to school." I scoff. "It's to dangerous. Besides, I'm more educated than most ghouls."

"You should still study, even if you refuse to go to school." Kaneki sighs as he looks out the window. "You don't want to tell your children you dropped out of school, do you?"

I feel tense and angry. "I was already ahead in school. Even though I'm technically a junior, I could graduate this year!" I snap.

"You should do online school than." He says gently.

I sit back down and I stretch my back.

"How far did you get then, Smartypants?" I ask sarcastically.

He sighs and swirls his cup around. "Technically I'm a sophomore this year." He says.

"How old are you?!" I ask in surprise. I always thought he was seventeen but if he's only in tenth grade...

"Nineteen." He replies as he looks at me.

"Oh.." I say quietly. I thought we were the same age... "So you're in college?"

"Kimi." He responds.

"And you're not going back?" I question.

"I can't go back like this.." He sighs and stands up.

"Just enroll into an online academy, okay?" He asks.

"I don't know if I'll have the time." I whine.

"It's really flexible. Please?" He asks again.

"Fine.." I mutter as I leave to do so.

I open my computer and I find the most recommended school. Within a few minutes, I switch my tuition from my old high school to the new one.

I shut the computer with satisfaction. I'll make Kaneki proud.

I stand up and stretch. Tatara wanted us to check out a band of hooligans, so Kaneki and I would leave in an hour or so.

"They're just killing to many people at once. If they're not stopped soon, they could become binge eaters." Tatara had said. I cringe at the idea. Binge eating is a terrible and hard to break addiction.

I start prepping for the job. A little while later, Kaneki knocks on my door.

"Ready?" He asks from the other side.

"Yup!" I shout as I run to the door. I slide out and hug Kaneki tightly.

"How are you?" I ask.

"Great." He grins back.

"How come?" I reply.

"Cause you're here." He smiles as he scoops me up and runs down the hall with me.

We step out into the humid night air. The soon-to-be binge eaters are rumored to feast somewhere in the 18th ward.

Kaneki and I scale the nearest building and begin running towards their supposed eating spot.

Once we reach the place, I sit on the edge of the building and I swing my legs childishly. Kaneki merely stands next to me with his arms crossed over his chest.

I lean my head back and I revel in the beauty of the moment.

The moon is full and a gentle breeze blows. I giggle as my hair gently floats around me.
