"You and Ayato are clearing out an area in the third ward tonight." Tatara says.

"Okay." I reply, my eyes scanning the room in a bored fashion.

Tatara sighs and hands me the papers. I take them and run off to find Ayato.

"Yo, Ayato!" I yell as I bang on his door. After a few minutes of waiting, I give up and check the lounge.

"Ayato!" I yell. He's playing air hockey with Kaneki... Ugh.

"What's up, Keiko?" Ayato asks as he lifts his head up to look.

"We've got a mission." I say as I hold up the papers.

"Fine.." He groans. "When do we leave?"

"Like, 10ish?" I respond. I scan the papers before nodding. "It's in the third ward. We're just clearing out some ghouls who have been ignoring our warnings."

"That'll be fun." Ayato smiles.

I turn around to head back to my room.

"Keiko!" Kaneki yells.

I gasp and look around for someplace to hide.

I rush about until I crash into Naki.

"Keiko!" He shouts happily.

I clamp my hand over his mouth.

"Shh!" I whisper. "I need to hide from Kaneki."

"But?" Naki asks before seeing the desperate look in my eyes.

"This way." He says seriously as he grabs my hand.

We run down several halls and floor until we end up where most members live.

"In here!" Naki opens a door into what I can only assume is his room.

He slams the door shut behind him.

"Keiko?!" Kaneki shouts.

Naki covers his mouth and silently laughs.

The footsteps slow down outside the door.

Oh no..

He can probably smell me..

"KEIKO?!" Kaneki yells as he knocks loudly on the door.

"No one but me Kaneki-kun." Naki replies.

"I smell her..." Kaneki growls.

"She lent me her jacket." Naki lies.

I look at him with a "are you serious?" expression and he merely shrugs.

"Naki, please let me talk to her." Kaneki pleads.

"What exactly did you do." Naki asks.

Kaneki sighs loudly and leans against the door.

"Many things, Naki. I'm scared she's going to leave me." He says so quietly we have to press our ears against the door.

"Have you ever even done anything with her?" Naki asks.

"We hang out all the time!" Kaneki exclaims.

"What about a date? A date that doesn't happen in an abandoned building." Naki says.

"I had a whole week planned! And what did she do?! She left without saying goodbye or even telling me. I thought she was dead! She never answered her phone! I went in her room, and she was gone. No note. No nothing. Then I called her and she hung up in the middle of our conversation." Kaneki says quickly and sadly.

"And then Ayato stepped on my phone so I had to wait to get a new one and I was trying to figure it out and she kept spamming me." He explains.

"Then, I decided to find her and I found her on the Tsukiyama Estate. All settled in a room on a bed enjoying herself. And I was so sad.. The man who tried to eat me and my friends had attracted my Keiko..." He continues. "Then she comes back unannounced and comes in my room at a very bad time and refused to say anything about her trip except that he was a guy and I accidentally let it slip that i was there and she got mad and left. Now she won't talk to me.."

Naki and I stare at each other in silence as we try to figure out what to do.

"Kaneki-Kun..." Naki says finally. "When Keiko goes on her mission, you and I will get a coffee and I'll teach you all about relationships and love.."

Kaneki simply mumbles an agreement.

"Is she still not wanting to talk to me?" Kaneki asks miserably.

Naki turns to me and I shake my head. He frowns and raises his eyebrows pleadingly but I still wag my head side to side.

"Nope." Naki says loudly.

"Didn't think so.." Kaneki whispers.

My heart breaks at his words but I need to prepare for my mission..

I'll fix things with him tonight.

I run over to the window and shove it open. I quickly begin scaling up the wall to my own bedroom and I open.

I check my clock to see I have seven hours before I need to ready myself, so I lay down on my bed and try to catch some sleep.
