*•* Beginning of the chapter sucks, but I'm too lazy to rewrite it *•*

Sirens blare in the distance.

I slowly raise an arm off the chipped concrete in search of something to help me up.

"Lexi..?" I mumble as I slowly open my blood caked eyes.

Just more blood.

"O-okay.." I mumble to myself.

I stand up at the speed of a snail, my knees barely able to support my weight. I place one foot in front of the other before I end up teetering out of the alley.

The streets are eerily empty, but that's okay. I stumble and trip over every crevice, so the lack of life helps.

"Lexi..." I mumble again.

He took her.

But where?

My hand flies towards my head as a searing pain shoots through my cranium. I squeeze my eyes shut and cling desperately to a dim lamp post.

Packing peanuts.

Yes.

"Keiko! What happened?!" Kaneki shouts as he rushes towards me. I slowly shake my head in response, the room growing darker by the minute.

"Keiko!" Kaneki shouts again as I lose all stability and fall forward.

I slowly turn my head over my shoulder to see Kaneki gently washing the caked-on blood off of my back.

Our eyes meet for a moment, then quickly flick away.

I lean further into his touch and let out a long sigh.

"I'll wait until you've had a nap before I question you.." Kaneki mumbles gently.

I nod dully in response.

"Does this hurt?"

I slowly move my head from side to side.

"Well, uh.. that's good." I can already imagine how red his cheeks are, and I'm too exhausted to tease him.

I shut my eyes again and slowly fall back asleep.

The scent of coffee floats about the room, tickling my nose and making my mouth drool. Something small bats at my nose.

I open my eye once again to see Jinx staring back at me, her large pupils nearly consuming her irises.

"Hey, baby.." I cough as I stroke her head with my forefinger. "You're getting bigger.."
