Chapter 6: new hair and crush

*Madeline's POV*
I woke up to my phone blaring wake me up when September ends. Ugh who's texting me? I logged in to kik and saw that it was Addie.
(A=Addie and M=Maddie)
A=hey I was wondering if you wanted to hangout today?
M= I'm going to the mall to get my hair done wanna come?
A=sure what time
M=noon
A= ok cu soon
M=Kk
I went and took my shower and came back out throwing on a black tank top and one of Luke's flannel that I stole and then threw on black skinny jeans and my black and white vans. I threw my hair into a messy ponytail and put in a black bandana (I also stole it from Ashton) I grabbed my phone and my iPod and went downstairs. Dad was making cereal this time when I say on a stool.
"Hey dad (holding out the "ad")-"
"What do you want" dad said smiling catching on to my begging.
"IwasthinkingandkindofalreadytoldAddisonthatshecancomewithistothemall" I said super fast.
"All I heard was thinking Addison and mall, so if that was you way of asking if she can come with then I say why not, but you have to ask you uncles" dad said as I gave him a hug thanking him.
"Now go ask your uncles and wake them up and no pranks" dad said as I smiled getting down.
"No promises" I said running up stairs before he could argue. I walked into Luke's room and saw him cuddle with his giant penguin mumbling a name I believe was a Katie i don't know. Anyway I walked in there and shook him a little and got him to squirm. When I had it with his annoyance I finally did something I should have done in the first place. I got to his hear.
"Lucas wake up Calum is saying penguins are so stupid" I screamed in his ear making him wake up.
"What the hell Maddie! I want to be able to hear you know and was that true?" Luke said as I giggled.
"No I just said that to wake you up because dad made breakfast." I said as he nodded and got up. So I left and went to Calum's room. He is easy to wake up so I had no problem I just shook him. He jolted up awake.
"Breakfast is ready" I said as he nodded and sat up. I left his room and went to Michaels room he is fun to wake up.
"Michael wake up dad made breakfast" he just groaned so I figured to mess with him to.
"OMG Michael someone shaved you head!" I yelled trying to hold in my laugh.
"WHAT?!" He yelled running to his bathroom when he realized I was just kidding he ran out of the bathroom and chased me downstairs.
"Dad help" I yelled laughing as I ran.
"Okay" dad said but helping the wrong person he lifted me up and gently body slammed me into the couch. Michael hovered over me and started tickling my sides.
"S-s-stop I can't breathe!" I said laughing as he shook his head.
"Never! Unless you day Michael Clifford is the best punk rock in 5sos and best uncle. I shook my head.
"Never!" I yelled laughing.
"Fine by me." He said tickling me more.
"M-m-Michael I seriously can't breathe stop." I said gasping for air. He immediately stopped.
"Oh shit I'm sorry" he said apologizing as I just slowed my breathe back to normal.
"Your good, you just can't forget that I have Anxiety so my breathing can become difficult" I said hugging him. He accepting the hug and apologized once more.
"So what do you want to do with your hair?" He asked as I went eye wide. Fuck I forgot to ask them about Addie coming along. I took out my phone and showed him the picture.
" I was also wondering if Addie can come"
" I don't care and that hair stile would look nice on you, so the highlights and everything or just the bangs." I rose my finger showing three seconds and count  down.  3-2-1.
"No high lights or dying your hair until your 16!" Dad shouted as I pouted.
"I wish but thanks for letting Addie come" I said giving him another hug as Calum and Luke came downstairs.
"Hey guys dad told me to ask you if Addison can come because Mikey and dad already said yes it just up to you two." I said as they both nodded and said sure. I heard a knock at the door. I walked over thinking it was Addison, but it wasn't. It was Cody I looked at him and glared then slammed the door in his face.
"If any of you open the damn door I will kill you all." I said sitting next to Michael as they all looked at me like I was crazy. So I turned to Michael and whispered Cody in his ear.
"why the hell is here?" Michael yelled as I shrugged and went to the door to ask the same question, but it wasn't Cody it was Addison.
"I am so sorry Addison I thought you were some else come in" I said pulling her in the house.
"That's okay but just out of curiosity who did you think I was?" She said as I sighed.
"Let's just say my  psychotic brother." I said as she nodded.
"So when are we going because I have to meet my cousin at 3" she said and I looked at the guys.
"Now?" I said as everyone nodded. We headed outside but dad pulled me to the side.
"Madison are you alright?" He asked as I shrugged.
"I don't know after yesterday it's like who ever I see it's rather Cody or my old dad." I said sighing and looking down. Then I mumbled "I'm messed up". Hoping he didn't here it.
"You are not messed up Maddie, your scared so your mind is playing tricks. Come on let's go get your hair done." He said as I nodded and we walked to the car.
*skip car ride*
We got there and Addison pulled me into cost and cutters. The lady behind the counter looked at us like we were lost puppies.
"How may I help you?" She asked flashing a fake smile as dad walked up to us.
"One haircut and high lights" when he said that I turned around and stared at him like he was the psychotic one.
"Surprise baby girl" he said as I smiled and hugged him then sat into a chairmen waiting for my stylist to come.
"So can I see a picture of your soon to be hair?" Addie asked as I showed her.
"You should cut your hairless to shoulder length to." She suggested as I nodded since it's a little to long for my liking. My stylist came out and asked for the picture.
"Also can I have it shoulder length?" I asked as she nodded. When she was done cutting my hair I told her how much high lights I wanted and she got done with that. I walked out of the store, but I couldn't find my dad or anyone and I don't like that. So I walked around the mall a little still not able to find so them. My phone and iPod died so I wasn't able to text or anything. I was walking until I bumped into someone.
"I am sorry I didn't try." I said as I looked up and saw this tall dirty blonde kid. With light brown eyes. He was hot.
"It's okay, hi I'm Zack." Zack said pulling a hand out for me to shake.
"Maddie hey you have seen a kid with dirty blonde curly hair,hazel eyes, and dimples around here have you?" I asked shaking him hand.
"No why?"
"I got my hair done and I lost him"
"Your brother?"
"No adoptive dad"
"Ah I see well I haven't but I can help you look"
"Okay"
we went and liked for dad.
*Ashton's POV*
We're the hell is she? She's not picking up, she is no where to be found. Damn it I lost my kid.
"Ashton will find her" Mikey said patting my back.
"I know, but she's my daughter and I lost her. I can't believe I fucking did that" I said shaking my leg as I sat in a bench.
"Hey Ashton I have to go and meet up with my cousin. I'm sorry I hope you find her." Addison said as we hugged.
"It's okay but if you see her please tell her to call as soon as she can." I said as she nodded and walked off.
I hope we find her.
*Maddie's POV*
I was walking with Zack. We haven't found my dad yet, but now I can say I found a new friend. Me and Zack are a lot in common. We were by Payless when we saw Addison.
"Addison!" I yelled running up to her.
"Omg I'm glad I finally found you. Ashton so worried more worried then mad at least. And I see you met my cousin Zack." She said walking up to him and hugging him.
"I didn't know that was your cousin. Anyway can I borrow your phone to call my dad. Both of mine are dead." I said as she handed me her phone. It rang three times until he answered.
A: Addison dos you find her?
M: yeah she did I'm sorry I left the haircut place and couldn't find you guys. My iPod and phone died so I couldn't call hence me using Addie's phone anyway where are you?
A: OMG Maddie it's okay baby. Um meet me at the food court. Love you and don't run off again.
M: I won't and I'm sorry see you soon dad love you.
I hung up and gave back the phone. I thanked her and hugged them walking off to the food court. I began thinking about Zack. I don't know why but I feel as if we have a connection. It's probably a friend connection. Anyway I got to the food court and sat down waiting for my dad and uncles. I spotted Luke and I ran up to him and hugged him.
"Omg we've been trying to find you! Are you okay? What happened Maddie?" Luke said hugging me back as everyone ran towards us and we made a group hug.
"I am sorry I left the haircut shop and couldn't find you guys. My iPod was dead and I was texting you with my phone and it died in mid text. Then I walked around hoping to find one of you. Then I ran into a Zack, Addison's cousin, and he helped me find you guys. We found Addison and that's when I called you." I explained tears threading to spill.
"Hey important thing is we found you and you are not hurt. Just don't run off again." Dad said giving me a hug. We left the mall and headed to the car. Again I couldn't stop thinking about Zack, how his eyes lit up each time something was mentioned making him happy. How his light brown hair laid flat on his head. As he smiled everything including dimples would show and make me smile. His smile,his laugh, his everything made me happy.
Oh my god I have a crush on 13 year old Zack Tucker, Addison's cousin.
"Why are you blushing?" Michael asked poking my cheek.
"Uh I'm not blushing" I said believing the term deny everything and you will be safe.
"Mhm sure anyway I like your hair" he said changing the the topic.
"Uh thank you" I said as we got in the car. Dad was driving. Calum was in the passenger seat. Luke Michael and I were in the middle seat as I sat in between them. We got home and I went straight to my room putting my iPod and phone on the charger and going downstairs. Michael was laying on the couch watching tv as I sat on the recliner. He looked over at me and opened his arms. I don't find it weird because I learned that they are all cuddle bugs and it's like a brotherly/sisterly or uncle/niece way. So I walked over to him and we cuddled as I slowly fell asleep in my uncles arms.
