Chapter 8: Birthday and Cody

*5 days later:Maddie's POV*
I still can not believe my dads talk was the talk.
Flashback:
Zack came back laughing with my dad. I looked at him weird because I thought he'd be scared.
"What so funny?" Michael asked Zack looked down blushing with embarrassment. That's when I knew dad gave him the talk not a talk.
"Dad you didn't say what I think you said did you!" I said as Zack walked over and gave me a long hug and dad bursted out laughing. That's when Mikey Luke and Calum caught on and laughed.
"Omg! Your so embarrassing!" I said laughing as me and Zack say on the couch.
End of flashback
I got up and took a shower. Doing my usual shampoo rinse shampoo rinse conditioner rinse body wash rinse get out. When I was done I threw on a sea green skater dress with a brown belt around the waist. Then I curled my hair at the tips. I put on my black high tops and put on my gold necklace that says stay strong that I got from my mom before she died.
I went downstairs and saw everyone in the living room besides dad. He's probably making breakfast. I sat down next to Calum and all of them looked at me.
"What have you never seen a dress before?" I asked a little to mean but I was getting uncomfortable.
"No we have just never seen you wear a dress. You look beautiful why are you wearing a dress." Mikey asked and I looked at him like I've seen a ghost.
"Uh maybe because today is a special day and I wanted to dress nice." I said hoping something clicked. Did they not look at my birth certificate or maybe dad never told them.
"Awe did Zack ask you in a date?" Luke asked as I blushed but shook my head no. They all looked at me confused.
"Are you serious? I thought dad told you guys my birthday" I said and all of them looked at me in complete shock.
"We're sorry no he didn't but happy birthday. What do you want to do today?" Luke asked as I forgot to I ask to throw a party. I gave him an apologetic look. And counted down by three. Three..two..one. The bell went off.
"Madeline your friends are here take out to the back will set up the party before the rest come." Dad said and all of my uncles just shook there heads and smiled.
"Your lucky we love you" Calum said as I laughed and went to the door. Addie,Zack,Braden,Brody,and Catalina were standing in the door.
"Hey guys." I said as they all looked at me just like my uncles.
"Y-you look beautiful Maddie." Zack said pulling me into a hug and kissing my cheek. Yes,Addie knows we're dating so no it's not weird.
"I never thought I'd see a tomboy in a dress." Cat said laughing as I shot her a playful glare.
"Anyway my dad said we all have to help with the party stuff in the back." I said as Zack held my hand and we walked outside.
"So who's all coming?" Brody asked.
"Everyone" I answered as we set up.
*3 hours later*
We were done setting up and because I wore a dress Addie and Cat wanted to were a dress so I led them to my room. I gave Catalina a bright red skirt and half top dress. I gave Addie a blue long layered dress. They got ready, and Addie was the first done. She wore the dress with heel boots and her hair was wavy while the first layer was a braid crown. Catalina came out with her dress were black flats and her hair was down and straight while her bangs were pinned back. We linked arms and went outside as the music was blasting and everyone was dancing and having fun. My dad made punch but I'm sure Braden was dumb and added some alcohol to it. We met up with our group and Zack gave me some punch.
"How you liking your party so far?" He yelled.
"It's fun but I'm scared because I'm performing two of my songs." I said and he kissed me and said I'll be fine.
"I am going to go and get my guitar." I did as I walked away. I got inside and Dad was on the couch.
"Hey dad what are you doing in here?" I asked.
"Just thinking. Ready for your performance?" He asked and I shook my head no.
"I am but I'm super nervous" I said as I sat down next to him.
"You'll do fine. I have a surprise for when your done performing." I nodded as he kissed my forehead. I went down stairs and grabbed my guitar. Actually Luke's but he let me borrow it. I went were the stage was set up. Zack helped me set up the microphone and kissed my cheek wishing me luck. I cleared my throat and everyone stopped and looked at me. Great this helps....not.
"Uh um," I took a breathe,"I am going to sing two of my songs and uh yeah uh," I froze damn my stage fright I looked around and locked eyes with Michael he nodded and said go. I closed my eyes and then continued," here's my first song called How to Save a Life." I started and I was shaking like a motherfucker I know my uncles and dad noticed so to embarrass me more or to help idk which they came on stage.
"It's her first time performing in front of people so we're going to help her." Uncle Luke said and I lipped out thank you. He nodded and started the intro with me along with the rest.
