Chapter 7 - Back Home

Soo-Ri's POV
Kai and I went back to my apartment.

I sat on the couch, still terrified.

Kai closed the door and kneeled down in front of me.

"You okay, Soo-Ri?" he asked.

I nodded.

Kai sighed and held my hands. All of a sudden, I somehow felt sparks.

"Don't be scared, Soo-Ri. I promised your Dad that I'll protect you." he said.

I looked at him with my eyes widen.

"W-What?" I asked.

Kai's lips form a smile.

"I'll protect you." he said.

"Always?" I asked.

Kai nodded. "Always."

I sniffed and tears started to flow.

"Hey, come here." Kai pulled me into a hug.

I was shocked about that.

"Don't cry. I don't like it." Kai said.

I smell Kai's scent.

He smells like....chocolate?

We both pulled away and he wiped my tears.

"Go and take a shower. I need to check the area." he said.

I nodded.

"But, first...I need to check your bedroom." he said.

I giggled and nodded.

We both walked upstairs to my room.

Kai pulled out his gun, just in case.

I followed behind him.

He opened the door and walked in.

I walked in as well.

He checked the bathroom, my closets and then, he pulled out his detector to scan my bed.

"It's clear." he said.

I nodded.

"Sleep well, alright." he said.

He was about to walk out until....

"Kai." I called him.

"Yeah?" he turned around and looked at me.

"Thanks." I said.

He smiled at me.

"You're welcome. And always remember....I'll always come to you, whenever you press that gemstone." he said.

I nodded with the smile on my face.

"Good night." I said.

"Good night, Soo-Ri." he said.

With that, he went downstairs to check the area.

I smiled and closed my door.

Then I stripped off my clothes and went for a shower.

Kai's POV - In my room
I checked the area with the cameras.

Had every camera covered the whole area. And I have another camera on my hand.

Checking everything. The backyard. The front yard. And the front door.

And including Soo-Ri's room.

I saw her come out of the bathroom, with a towel wrapped around her.

My eyes widen at that.

I started to sweat and I gulped.

I'm not suppose to watch her. I put the camera down quickly.

Don't think about it, Kai. Don't think about it. I thought.

I looked at my camera again, and she was finished.

Phew.

Then she started to dance. I smiled and stated to watch her dancing.

Soo-Ri's POV
After I put on my pajamas, I felt like dancing, a little bit.

I just spin around like a ballerina and did some moves with my hands, beautifully.

Then I started to lay on my bed.

I'll protect you always. Kai said through my mind.

I smiled and drifted to sleep.

Kai's POV
When I watch Soo-Ri dancing. She dance beautifully, even though she's just spinning around like a ballernia.

I was one too, when I was 16.

Then I saw her went to sleep.

I think I should head to sleep as well.

Soo-Ri's POV
I was having a nightmare and I was tossing and turning.

Getting too stress out. It's the same dream I've been dreaming for 10 years.

Seeing my parents, dying in front of me.

And a man, he was about to shoot....Kai?

I sat up and started to scream like heck.

"AHHHH!!!!"

Kai's POV
I woke up by a scream.

It's Soo-Ri's scream.

I got up and grabbed my gun. Then I head upstairs, as I got to Soo-Ri's room.

I kicked her door and pointed my gun.

"AHHHH! KAI!!!!" she screamed.

I put my gun in my pocket and went to her.

"AHHH! KAI!!!!" she screamed.

I brought her to my arms and started to craddle her.

"Shh...Soo-Ri. I'm here." I cooed.

She stopped screaming and I felt her wamr tears.

"K-Kai." she whimpered.

"Shhhh....you're okay. You're safe." I said.

She wrapped her arms around my neck and buried her face into my neck.

"Shhh....you're just having a nightmare. Just a nightmare." I said, patting her head.

She whimpered and cried a little more.

"Kai...." she trailed off.

"What?" I asked.

"Can...you....sleep with me tonight?" she asked back.

I hesitated at that. I know she didn't mean that way.

Maybe...just one night.

I nodded. "Sure."

She pulled back and scooted over.

I slithered into her bed and laid down.

Then I covered us in a blanket.

We were facing each other and I somehow was staring at her.

"K-Kai. Can....we hold hands?" she asked.

I hummed in response and held her hands, gently.

"Thank you, Kai." she said.

I nodded and held her hand a little tighter.

"Sleep, okay. You have school tomorrow." I said.

She nodded and drifted to sleep.

I couldn't help but smile at her.

I never thought she can be this cute. I thought.

Then suddenly, I felt sleepy as well.

I fell asleep, holding Soo-Ri's hands.
