They were left waiting for two minutes, but there wasn't any sign that Harry was in the competition. Seamus and Dean looked into the deep, murky black water of the lake, but couldn't see any sign of him.

"What's the matter with him?" Seamus asked.

"I don't know, I can't see him," Dean replied. Neville suddenly gasped and threw his hands into his hair.

"Oh my God! I've killed Harry Potter!" he exclaimed. But suddenly, Harry leaped out of the water quite like a dolphin, and dived back in again. Everybody cheered for him, Ruby even gave Neville a hug.

----

Time passed as they three schools waited for their champions to resurface. Ruby had taken decided to take a breather and check out the view from the mezzanine level. Up there, she saw little Nigel watching the water faithfully. She came and stood next to him.

"Hey Nigel," she greeted him.

"Hi Ruby," he replied, not taking his eyes off the water. Further down, she saw Draco with Crabbe and Goyle, still wearing their Potter Stinks badges proudly while they waited. Draco looked her way, and he gave her a little, inconspicuous smile. Ruby gave a little wave back.

"There's something there!" Somebody shouted. Everybody looked into the water, finding Fleur Delacour was swimming back to the dock empty-handed.

"The Beauxbatons champion, Miss Delacour, has unfortunately been forced to retire, so she will take no further part in this task," Dumbledore announced. Ruby watched as the blonde was pulled out of the water by the rest of her friends and taken to dry off. She looked about ready to cry.

Soon, Cedric had resurfaced with Cho Chang. So, that's what happened to her, Ruby thought. Shortly after, Viktor resurfaced with Hermione.

"Neville!" Ruby shouted down. Neville looked up at her, squinting in the white light from the clouds.

"Yeah?"

"Any sign of Harry?" she asked him.

"None so far," he replied.

"He's running out of time, Ruby!" Seamus called up to her. Ruby didn't like it, she was getting worried.

"Oh my God," she muttered under her breath.

"Hey, Dellamark! Since you're so worried about Saint Potter, why don't you go in after him?" all of the sudden, Ruby was shoved over the railing, and went head-first into the lake.

Everybody looked over the side of the railing – including Draco – and waited to see if Ruby would resurface. Eventually, she did after a few seconds, completely drenched. She shook the water from her eyes and looked up, finding that Crabbe and Goyle were laughing their asses off.

"Goyle! When I get back up there, you better pray that the Lord has mercy on your soul! Because when I get up there, I'm gonna feed you to the merpeople!" she screamed at him. Goyle didn't seem to take her seriously. Ruby grumbled colorful words under her breath as she started to swim for the dock.
