DemetriThe quaestor kept staring at me throughout the whole meeting. She barely put her input while the others were discussing the matters at hand. I wanted to scream at her to just pay attention at the others and not me, but that was rude and werewolves already have a bad record as it is.
Another thing that was bothering me was my parents. They sat a few people down from me. I was squirming in my seat wondering why were they here. I folded my arms and tilted my head back. Burnett glanced at me.
"So, basically for this camp, we have to tighten our security?" Burnett asked.
The vampire quaestor finally decided to open her mouth. "Why can't the supernaturals who live here be security?"
"They are not soldiers, Caterina," Rose snapped.
"They could be if you train them properly."
"They come here to live a peaceful life. Do you honestly think they're going to fight?" Rose reasoned, she seemed like she was getting annoyed now.
"They're not going to roll over and let their home get destroyed either." Wynnter, from the Fae court said.
"They're just teenagers!" Rose demanded.
"My son is capable of taking care of himself and the pack. I don't believe Shadow Creek needs security. The children are strong," my mother decided to speak up.
I turned to her, "I agree."
The head vampires of the clans decided to speak up. He stared at me as he did so. "So you would protect your pack and leave your vampire girlfriend to die?"
My eyes narrowed. How did he know. . .? "She's my girlfriend, I wouldn't let her die. Although, I'm concerned of why you're delving into my business."
"She's a part of the most biggest and powerful vampire clan. Everyone knows about Zoeria Draven," Caterina commented. Draven? That was probably her vampire name.
Rose frowned. "Do not concern yourself with the students staying here, Caterina."
Caterina rolled her eyes just like Zoey would. "I would be of course concerned about my baby cousin."
Rose's eyes grew wide. She nodded silently. "So you're Caterina Draven. Not Caterina Alekison."
Caterina nodded. "And this is now the other head of the Draven family bloodline, Cassian Draven." She motioned to the head of the vampire clan. "Otherwise known as my brother."
Cassian nodded towards us silently. The witch rolled her eyes. "You vampires always taking the spotlight."
The door opened to the room quickly. Zoey was there breathing hard. "Demetri!"
Rose stood up. "Zoey, you're supposed to be resting."
Zoey pushed past Rose and walked over to me. She was still healing, you could see the faint bruises along her hairline. She came up to me and she threw her arms around me. I held her and looked at her worriedly. "Are you okay?"
Zoey shook her head and glared at Caterina. She narrowed her eyes. "Get the fuck out."
Caterina smirked and walked towards us. The faerie court glared at us. "A vampire protecting a werewolf? Disgusting."
"Zoey," I started, "You're injured, you can't exert yourself like this."
Zoey pushed me and stood in front of Caterina. "Why are you here, cousin?"
