The moment his wife entered the room, everything fell into motion as Tom stood up and left, Carlton made his way to chase after him.
"Don't" Tanya warned Carlton as she blocked the doorway.
"Get out of my way, Tanya" He gritted through his teeth, his eyes were burning with an intense drive that was unspeakable.
Tanya nodded over to the worker's questioning eyes, including his wife that watched curiously over the pass few seconds, trying to make sense of everything as fast as she could, but still making up absolutely nothing.
"I specifically told you to not do this, and I don't care about what they say or what they think just step.a.side" Carlton hissed, towering over her as his heart beat unevenly and his mind paving out every aspects of this for him to apologize.
After a few seconds, Tanya finally stepped aside and Carlton dashed out into the hallway chasing after him, he found Tom carrying his bag and headed straight to the door.
"Tom!" He yelled, his voice laced with despair boomed across the wall.
Luckily, Carlton was able to catch up with him and lock his hands on his wrist as he ushered him out the storage room, hoping he'd get to resolve this quickly and efficiently.
"Tom—" He began, already his voice was shaky and uneven. "—I don't know how to say this to you, I thought about keeping it in the dark—"
"—Keeping it in the dark?" Tom retorted, his eyes swelling with tears. "She's your wife!" He screamed.
"It's not like that, we'd been gone for a long time, I wanted to file for a divorce long ago! She's the one that's trying to hold on"
"That doesn't change the fact that your lying to me, you lied to me, you lied to your wife and your lying to your self—"
"Who the hell is lying here? She knows from the beginning that I already given up on her and she knows that" He begged, Carlton's eyes began brimming with tears.
"Does she know?" Tom murmured
"About what?" Carlton answered morbidly.
"Does she know!" Tom repeated, his voice scratching the surface of harsh and deadly but still, there was no answer, just the intense glare Carlton gave him.
"About us!—That you're gay— That you chose to sleep with someone that is not yours to even begin with, that you're screwing someone else that isn't your wife!"
After a few second, Carlton spoke, but this time he didn't use his voice to communicate with him, he took a step forward until Tom's back hit a wall.
"No, don't touch me—" Carlton didn't listen as cupped Tom's face with his hands and started kissing him at that moment. "—No" Tom murmured in between kiss, he knew if he went through with this, he wouldn't have the strength to stop the growing feeling inside.
With enough will and the images of his wife, his other half popped to his head, he gave in all to put a halt into there heated kiss, the tension from it left an empty feeling to the both of them. Tom gave everything as his palm connected with Carlton's cheek, the sound bounced around the room.
"Don't you dare think for one second that what were doing is right" Tom hissed as he removed Carlton's iron grip and left the venue.
A cloud of emotions rained through Carlton at that moment, he was mad, devastated, angry and alone.
