A MONTH LATER
What started out as a mere thought, grew into a lifestyle that I never knew. I sighed cheerfully and felt the blinding sunshine on my porch, I smiled, even though a bitter seed was planted within me. I sat on a chair and watched as people did what they did from across the street. Walking their dogs, Couples dating and regular people passing by and ready to take on the world together.
I was at content, really. I was drinking my daily dose of morning coffee while I sat cross-legged. I had my ray bans on to shield my eyes from the sun. Other than that, I was perfectly contented on where I was. And besides, the money helped. A Lot.
I have to say, I was beginning to enjoy living in Paris. Even though I didn't speak the language, I was fine by that. It separated me from the rest actually, just like I needed to be. I was happily alone while my neighbors just see me as a lonely foreigner with a lot of money. I was fine by their image of me, It's better than a troubled, twenty-something guy with a dark history and a family of mercenaries with a psychotic man out for him.
In a span of a few months, I used my inheritance to finally make a stable income. I was funding dozens of project from quite a few spectacular kids that was beyond exceptional. They have a vision for the future and the environment, so why not? They only want to make the world a better place. At least they'll be able to make some good in the world.
I was basking in the light when I heard my telephone in the kitchen ring. After a second, a message was sent. But before I could hear it, three knocks were at my door, startling me at the force. I stood up and walked towards the door with a smile on my face. Maybe that was Jane, my assistant that was supposed to meet with me to discuss some projects with the students.
I opened the door wearing nothing but my khaki shorts and a pair of loose white t-shirt. And once I saw the person standing in front of me, the smile on my face dissipated faster than a prey running from it's predator.
Hagen stood before me with an unprecedented demeanor that was always so mysterious yet so enticing. He was matched with his royal blue Armani suit and he had the scent of heaven. His hair was fixed and his stubble cut cleanly.
He looked like he came from a magazine.
But I knew all to well, underneath those smooth and flawless exterior was a man lonely and deprived of himself. He was smiling and showing the world he was fine but his eyes says otherwise.
"Hey Nikolaj-It's me Reyna. I have some bad news, It's Hagen. He's coming to visit you" I heard Reyna speak from the telephone. I felt a cold shiver run up my spine when Hagen raised a brow.
"I'm bad news?" He smirked while I didn't had the audacity to reply. I was still awestruck by the very image of him. He looked different, like he wasn't a sadistic asshole who was at the same time charming and magnetic. He walked inside and gave a subtle view of my apartment.
"Nice place, cozy" He commented, finally landing his majestic blue eyes on me. "How did you find me" I said, standing my ground. He opened his mouth without saying anything before facing me.
"You're not very good at keeping a low profile, Mr.Jamie Galagher" He said, placing a newspaper at the center table that had the words "'Mysterious Billionaire funds Students Project'" written on the front page.
I looked at him and he smiled thinly. "You always leave traces of yourself everywhere, Nikolaj. Wherever you go, you get sloppy. That's how I keep finding you-"
"-Why are you here?!" I reprimanded. For a second, he just looked at me as if he was analyzing every inch of my face, then blinking the next second, diverting his focus on me. "I thought you let me go already"
