The snow fell heavenly on the vastly covered park, white blankets were everywhere. It was clearly making it's mark on the previously warm bed of soil, similar to someone in his life that was trying the same thing.

His hands were nicely tucked inside the comfort of his glove, as well as the rest of his body to withstand the frigid weather.

A walk in a park it seems, but he knew all to well he just needed the scenic view of it all. The yellow light post at the end of every path or the numerous people sliding and skating on the thinly frozen lake. He'll admit, he hated slapping the hell out of Carlton that previous morning. He was so angry and rude to him that he had a moment of weakness and did something quite irrational. For example, slapping the future senator of New York, now that was irrational.

He looked up in the sky for a few minutes, oddly enough there weren't enough stars to reach his weird quota. It was quite depressing, the lack of burning gas was now not so interesting in Tom's favor. It was a rather disappointment.

The sound of tire tracks kissing with the frozen asphalt caught his attention, followed by the halting of engine and then footsteps. Light and careful, already having an idea of whom it may be.

“Your late” Tom began, smiling thinly at him, a playful one.

“I'm sorry, there was this thing I had to take care first—How are you?” Robert kissed him on the cheek as he looked at him eye to eye. After being a lawyer for most of his life, he knew the tiny tricks that could regulate a lying victim and Tom, boy was he hiding something.

“I'm fine, I was just feeling sick about the apartment” Tom lied, hiding the truth out of it.

Tanya wouldn't stop sending out personnel on his doorstep, all of them united into winning him back, for her sake and for Carl. This morning, she sent Kevin from publishing with a letter by his hand and an ungodly amount of money written on a check.

All five digits, the nerve of that woman.

And that's where the idea of walking around in a park came to his attention. Even though it was frozen everywhere, well at least it was a beautiful.

Robert held his hand in a mere softness, he felt the warmth of his hand pass through his dark gloves. It was an action that was so involuntary and yet, deep inside him at the back of his mind. He always knew it coming.

Robert was always full of surprises, after all.

“Let's go for a walk?” Tom nodded and they were off.

They walked quite a bit in that freezing Sunday evening, alot of talks were being opened up. His job, his family and his personal
ambition.

“You can't really be serious about that” Tom asked lightly as they held hands walking. The snow making each, soft crunch by a step.

“I am, my client married his girlfriend for about seven months after being acquitted for first degree murder. And two weeks later, he shows up at my firm with blood all over his hands, clothes and hair and tells me he just killed his wife”

They laughed unison as they Tom bothered to ask another question.

“Wait, you signed an NDA right?” Robert nodded as Tom raised a brow at him.

“Then why tell me all of this? For all I know, that's against the law. And you my friend, just broke one” He smiled, giving his hand a gentle squeeze.

“It is, but he's in prison now so it don't matter anymore” He replied while eyes narrowed.

“Ooooh, why is that? You loss?”
He teased, making Robert look at him with a playful glare.
