Love, for me always had a weird definition. When I was young, It was the only thing I held on to; never letting go. But right now, with there lives depending by the minute, I wasn't sure If love could save them anymore, but I know, It could save me.
When staring at death in the face, you have limited options. 1. You either face it and accept the consequences. 2. You think about the bigger picture and make run for it. And 3. You say no, cause even death itself was irreversible.
I had lived with the company of protection ever since I was little: the rifles and pistols beginning to look like kitchen wares. It was always there and always needed. Never leaving without one. It was an extra arm to me.
As Tom left Carlton's office with a smile on his face. He left the venue and decided to run towards where it all began. Robert, Tom finally decided to tell him the truth, the whole truth and accept whatever punishment he has to offer. He didn't care anymore, he only wanted to feel free from the shackles of his past, to be relieved as a prisoner of it.
He knew the consequences of what he's about to do, the mess it would conjure up from all sides of the world. Surely, he won't make it out alive, not when theres an army out there waiting for him to be killed.
The last surviving bloodline of Lucia Callahan, The Untouchable Woman of the North. The Original Martyr.
Not only was Tom the key of inheriting his families assets, containing money that was beyond unimaginable. He was also, a liability. If he decided to be a whistleblower, the whole world will hate him and rally against him. His family only did killed world leaders, shaped history by there fingertips, assasinated powerful icons and broke down a government. Sure, they would love him. Indefinitely.
Government had fallen by his families doing, and maybe with some help from there friends.
His hands gripped on the handle of the glass door, entering he noticed the lack of people by his firm. He knew they were only few, maybe half-a-dozen but there was no one on the lobby which was strange.
“Robert? Are you there?” He yelled, seeing the empty lobby for the second time around before walking around to see if anyone was there.
“Tom! Ru—!?”Tom heard Robert yell as the sound of him being muffled caught his attention. His heart quicken as he broke off into a run, following the direction of the his voice. Tom pushed the large door open wide with all his force and his mood shifted in an instant.
Robert was on his knees, blood pouring from the side of his face and a silver gun by his head. Tom's eyes hovered from Robert who struggled to keep his balance, up to the person who held the gun.
His dirty blonde hair was all slicked back into a disheveled manner, a few strands out of place. He might've changed his appearance, changing his clothes and haircut, but he still had that same, dark, insidious look by his eyes that grew by the years. He was still, Hagen.
“You were hard to find” He spoke with his deep, husky voice that echoed in the room. "But here you are; beautiful as the last time we met" He said, eyes wide and scanning him like a precious stone he was always been. Rare.
“Just let him go—” Robert gritted through his teeth as Hagen pushed his gun deeper on his head.
“Shsss. It'll all be over soon”
“Hagen” Tom breathed, his hands trembling with fear. But not only was he here, but also the rest of his people that held Robert's employees with a gun on by there heads. “Don't, I beg you, please” He pleaded as Tom's eyes filled with tears.
“Let them go, all of them” He said, looking at Robert and his firm. “I'm the one you want, I'm ready to follow you” He said in a mere whisper as his voice broke off into cry. His fear of Hagen was something even the cruelest, meanest people on the world could never match.
