Jade's pov.
My eyes slowly open, adjusting to the bright lights above me. I recognize that I'm in a hospital bed, but I don't remember why. I crane my stiff neck to my left and see a boy sitting on the blue chair. He's fast asleep propping his head up with his hand. His blonde hair has fallen into his face as he breathes deeply.
'Hey!' I whisper yell to the familiar boy.
His eyes jolt open and he sits up straight. His blue eyes dart everywhere searching for something until he locks eyes with me. His eyes almost instantly become glossy and he rushes over to my side.
'Jade?' He kisses my hand.
I recognize his voice.
'Yeah...' I draw out questioningly.
'How are you feeling?'
'Im sore.. But I don't really remember how I got in here.'
'You don't remember the accident?'
I think for a second, 'No.'
He blows out a breath and begins, 'You were crossing the street and a truck sped around the corner and you got hit. You flatlined- and it killed me, baby. But you're back, you're alive.' He smiled at me.
His smile was bright and it actually made me want to smile. His white teeth shown perfectly through his pink lips. His blue eyes shined with happiness and love.
'I have one more question.' I eyed him.
'Okay, ask away.'
'Who are you?'
Blake's pov.
'What?' I asked.
'Who are you? I mean you seem nice- but, I don't know you. Did you witness the accident or something?'
I blink rapidly and shake my head in disbelief. She doesn't remember me.
'Is this a joke or something Jade? Because it's not funny.'
'I'm sorry, I don't even know your name. Can you get my brother?'
I just stared at her unmoving.
'Hello?' She waved a hand in my face. 'Do you know my brother? Gordan?'
I nod once and let go of her hand abruptly.
'I'm sorry I don't remember you. Do you think memory loss is a symptom from my accident?' She asks me. I feel panic start to set in as I dismiss her questions and hit the nurse button beside her bed.
Two nurses rush into her room and start asking her questions. The first nurse I recognized from her doing check ups on Jade while she was unconscious.
'Hi Jade. Did you just wake up?' The first nurse asks Jade. But Jade doesn't break eye contact with me. 'Hello? Jade? Can you hear me?'
Her head snaps to the nurse and she nods. 'Yes I can hear you, and yes I just woke up.' Her eyes flicker to me quickly before focusing on the nurse again.
'Do you remember the accident?'
She shakes her head.
'Did Blake tell you?'
She looks at me questioningly, and I nod.
'Yes I guess Blake did.' She says testing my name on her lips. God I missed that.
The second nurse checks her heart beat, and flashes a flashlight in her eyes testing her response. 'Any memory loss?'
Her eyes lock with me again. 'Yes.' She says quietly. The nurses look at me quickly.
