(His point of view)
"You realize that I honestly could have you locked up for what you have done?" He snarls at me. All I can do is nod.
"Is this the only pleading response that you can muster?" He asks almost sounding winded. I finally open my eyes, allowing more tears to fall.
"There is no point in speaking. For there are no words to tell you how sorry that I am," I am finally able to choke out. He continues to glare, but I see the faint hint of his tension relaxing a bit from his shoulders. The silence that follows is ear splitting. It lingers on as I see his glare slowly but surely diminishing. He finally huffs out a big waft of air, shifting his weight.
"Loki, I will not put on a charade for your sake. I am deeply displeased with you. In fact, I am furious." I nod, forcing myself to keep eye contact with him. I feel as though I am to be sent for the dungeons at any moment. Maybe I shall be put in the same cell as Daegan. At least he would be willing to beat me until I could forget my grief. I would not even put up a fight. I would let him inflict as much physical pain upon me as possible. That would be the only way to distract me from my internal torment.
"But I will not have you imprisoned on one condition," he states firmly. I feel my eyes bulge a little at his statement. "You must find a way to make things right with my sister. Even if it means that you two are no longer to be married, you must find a way to bring balance to your relationship." I feel my brow creasing. What?
"I am not the most intellectual man in this land, but I know enough to notice how you two react whilst in trying times. I see how my sister moves as walking death when you scold her. I see how you shut yourself in, distancing yourself, even from her. And from what you and Christine have told me, you two are supposed to lean on each other, not go in opposite directions. I see Christine pining for a man that continues to turn his back on her. She does not need that, nor does she deserve it." I finally close my eyes again as the horrifying weight of guilt wills them shut. Every single word that he speaks is true...and I hate myself for it....
"If by some miracle Christine chooses to give you another chance, you had better not EVER let this happen again." His voice is full of warning. Full of acidic threat. I will my shoulders to straighten, looking him straight in the eye. I take in a deep breath, forcing my chest out in reassuring confidence.
"I swear to you, Link, I will do whatever it takes to make things right. Even if I have to sell my soul to Hel. I love Christine more than anything. Despite your doubt, you MUST know this!" I am begging through my hushed exclamations. He brings forward his finger, pointing at me viciously.
"You WILL make things right. If you do not, if I ever hear of you hurting her in such a manner again, I will kill you with my own to hands!"
I nod, chancing a step closer to him.
"Link, I do not ever plan on inflicting such pain upon your sister ever again. But if it were ever to occur, I would gladly let you take my life. For I could never suffer through this guilt a single time more."

We ride in complete silence back towards the castle. The whole entire way, I am wondering where my beloved has run off to. I have a mind to instantly run towards her hidden cavern once we have returned.
Breseis's reigns are securely tied to Darkness's as she runs alongside us through the fields without her owner atop her back. It kills me inside to see her without her cherished Princess happily riding, laughing loudly as the wind whips through her hair.
Once we have returned our animals to their compartments within the stables, I walk alongside the others as we enter through the main entrance of the front palace doors. Once just inside, Link holds out a hand, summoning us all to a halt.
