(His point of view)
We are standing at the top step of the altar just inside the temple. I can already see her familiar pink glow as the wind begins whipping around our bodies. I look up in the direction of the stained glass window, only to see the faint outline of her floating figure.
"Loki, it is time to depart. Heimdall awaits your arrival, as well as your brother." Her voice flows out as a song from a whisper of wind. I smile, feeling truly thankful that Heimdall has agreed to allow for me to return. And I am surprisingly overly excited to see my brother once again. I turn to look at Link. His eyes are wide as they are fixated on the angelic form hovering just overhead.
"Please step forward," she orders. We both do so until we are doused in her brightening glow of light. I immediately feel a soothing and unusual heat encompassing my body as I become weightless. Then, the all too familiar sensation that I am soaring at an incredible speed encompasses me. There is a blinding array of every color flying before my eyes as we are sent soaring onward. I can hear Link's resounding laughter echoing out as we fly. Despite my internal torment, I allow his laugh to break through my pain, causing for me to have to laugh along with him. This sensation never gets old, transporting from one land to another. I had forgotten how thrilling it felt.
We fly on until I hear her voice rising above the roaring wind in my ears.
"Be safe, Loki. And do not fear, for I shall be with you." The riot of color fades to black in an instant, and before I can register anything further, I feel my feet land on a hard surface. I blink my eyes furiously a handful of times before clearly seeing a figure laden in gold standing just in front of me. I feel my eyes widen as he chuckles, grinning at me in a most welcoming manner.
"Welcome home, My Prince." Heimdall......
I nod my head to him before taking a step closer.
"Thank you, Heimdall. It is good to be back, but you must know that this is no longer my home." His smile widens at my response.
"Yes, I gathered that." Before I can further respond, I see a blur of red speeding towards me.
"BROTHER!" His ostentatious voice causes my face to turn up in a smile. In a matter of seconds, he is galloping past Heimdall, lunging for me. His overly muscular arms are around me in a steel vice, crushing the very breath out of my lungs. I heave through my laughter as he lifts me completely up from off of the ground.
"It......" I cough. He notices my strain and immediately lowers me to the floor. As I pull away just enough to look at his face, I clear my throat through my chuckles.
"It is good to see you too, Thor." He beams at me, bringing a hand up to my shoulder.
"You have no idea how much I have yearned for this day, for you to return to Asgard. Welcome back." I nod to him, offering him a most genuine smile. Then, he looks over my shoulder. His eyes turn up in an even brighter smile as he spots Link standing just behind me.
"Ah, Prince Link of Medina! It is wonderful to see you again! Welcome to Asgard!" I hear Link's footsteps inching forward until he comes to stand at my side.
"Thank you, Thor. It is an honor to be allowed to enter into your magnificent land." Thor releases my shoulder before moving over and enveloping him in another bone cracking hug. They share a brief embrace before releasing one another. As Thor turns back to face me, I see that his smile is fading.
"Loki," he begins, taking a step back in my direction.
"I am so very sorry to hear of the most distressing news of your future Queen. Your guardian has informed Heimdall and myself of the latter events." My smile vanishes at the mention of her. My jawline stiffens as I nod before willing myself to speak.
