(His point of view)
I am standing in the throne room surrounded by the King, Queen, Link, and Kendha. They are all of them staring at me in complete and utter shock as I have just shared with them the most recent words from Adrielle. Although, I left out the bit where I had met with Rehema. I decided that this would be better left for another time.
"So tis true, then," the King finally mutters, breaking the stifling silence.
"Christine is truly a miracle." I have to nod at his observation.
"Yes, Your Majesty. She is." But of course I already knew this even before I learned that she was a true angel...
The Queen is standing at his side, clinging to his arm. Tears have been flowing evenly down her cheeks since the moment she learned that Christine was a partially angelic being.
"I cannot believe it," she whispers. "This is truly a marvel....I never would have dreamt that she was.....half angel....I have always known that she was exceptional. But....all of this time, I never imagined....."
"This certainly explains so much. It tells us why she has such gifts, Darling. We should have known. We should have seen past the obvious," the King replies. Despite the fact that I hear his words, my eyes linger on that of the Queen's. She looks as if she is somewhat conflicted. As if she is happy but somehow saddened by the news of Christine's true heritage. Why would she be sad to learn that Christine is half angel? I would have thought that this would be great cause for the utmost honor and pride. To think that she was chosen to carry the child of a heavenly being! Is that not a grand endeavor in itself? I would think that any woman would be more than grateful for such a rare and remarkable privilege.
I turn to see that Link is gawking, open jawed and wide eyed. As he notices me looking at him, he wills himself to speak.
"So we go to Asgard, then?" He asks in a gruff voice. I nod to him.
"Yes. Adrielle specifically ordered for us to be at the temple by dawn. She will guide us to Asgard herself, and from their, we shall be met by the gatekeeper and Thor." His observant eyes then flow slightly south.
"It is truly a marvel in itself to see this again," he mumbles, letting his sincere gaze rest upon sword in my left hand.
"It has been so long since I have seen it. I had forgotten just how brilliantly fine of a weapon it is." I look down at the blade, tightening my grip around its hilt.
"It was fashioned in the fires of Valhalla, made only for those worthy enough to represent Medina and her Majesty. A true leader of the land," the King responds. But then it is my Medinian brother who speaks up once more.
"As Adrielle herself has presented you with such a weapon, surely you now realize that there is no room left for doubt." He moves closer in my direction.
"For I know how you have doubted things in the past, Brother. But you must now realize that this is who you are. This is who you were born to be. You are really and truly worthy to be Christine's King, and mine as well." He stops just in front of me before placing his right arm over his heart in acknowledgement of his loyalty. I am stunned by his actions as well as his words. Pride swells in my chest as I let his words sink in. What is even more astonishing is that the doubt that I once would have felt upon hearing his words seems nowhere to be found. All that I feel is....pride. Worth. Acceptance.....
I have truly accepted who I am now......Holy gods....
Christine would be so very proud of me.
I nod to him whilst bringing a hand up to his shoulder.
"Thank you, Link. I am humbled by your words. I appreciate them more than you know. And no, I no longer doubt these things. I would be an absolute fool if I did. I know my place now, and that is here." I mirror his action by bringing my arm from his shoulder over to my chest, keeping my eyes locked onto his. We share a brief moment of silent, brotherly bonding. Then, his proud smile fades only just before he nods to me.
