Quinn's POV
A blinding light was shined in my eyes.
"The light, it burns!" I pulled the covers over me.
"Quinn, dear, your awake!" My mom came running into the room and shoved some food in my mouth.
"Hi mom," I said through a full mouth.
I started to sit up, but regretted it soon after. A sharp pain came running through my stomach.
I clenched my teeth and fell back down on my bed.
"Yeah, don try that, you were injured badly, and we want you in the best shape you can be in. So, you will have to miss school for the next couple days," Mom rubbed the back of her neck.
"Ugh!" I grabbed my phone and dialed up Everly.
"Quinn! Are you ok? I thought you died! Where is that million dollars?" I smiled.
"I'm fine, just hurt my ribs and stomach area badly. I'm not dead. And the million dollars is in the-" then I hung up.
My phone soon rang again, this time it was Kamer.
"Hey, Everly just told me you woke up! You should go call Cassidy, she feels really bad, and as much as you hate her right now, talk to her a bit, and she will feel better about this whole thing. Also, Everly wants me to ask where you hid the million dollars."
"Oh! Ok I will talk to her for a little bit, and of course I will tell you where the million dollars is! It's in the-" I hung up again.
I looked at the ceiling.
"I will leave you to talk with your friend," My mom patted my leg then left my room.
I dialed up Cassidy, my worst enemy right now.
"Hello?"
"Hey Cas."
"Omg! You're ok! I was so worried! Listen I so sorry I'm being controlled, as I said I didn't want to do it-" I cut her off.
"Listen to me Cassidy, I'm not ok with this lie. Just, try to stay away from me it's getting annoying. First, you bad mouth me, then you make up a lie about being possessed, then you blast me to where I almost died, however, I have to give you credit, it helped me play a great prank on Ever."
"Oh, the million dollars one? That was pretty great, and I'm not making it up! The Dark King is in my brain!"
"Shut it, Cassidy, that's so far fetched, just don't come near me again."
I hung up and saw my necklace was not on my neck, but next to me on my nightstand.
I soon dosed off again from just overall tiredness.
When I woke up hours later I saw a text from Ever.
"WHERE IS THE MILLION DOLLARS?!"
