--Quinn's POV--

I still hate Cassidy, but maybe she isn't lying about this. My parents are known to keep secrets from me. Like that time they said my pet fish had drowned.

I ran downstairs and slid through the halls to get to where my parents would be having a nice, peaceful, dinner date. I opened both sides he doors at the same time and walked in, slamming my hands on the table. Both my parents looked at me with confused looks on their faces.

"So, anything you want to tell me Mom?" I shot her a glare.

She swallowed her food and said, "Honey, what are you doing here?"

"I asked a question!"

"Quincey, don't talk to your mother like that!" My father stood up and walked over.

"Ugh! But my friend Cassidy said she had an encounter with a man in black with blonde hair and he was evil and stuff. He claimed to be my long lost brother! He wants me to join the dark side! I don't know what to do, stay good? I mean, I look good in black!" I rambled on and on until my mom interrupted me.

"Quincey-"

"Quinn."

"Quincey, Quinn, whatever. Listen, I'm sorry, but yes, you have a brother. His name was was Lucas, he demanded to be called Shard Richard or something," she said,

"Shad Rock... I read about him in a book at Ever's house! He rules the dark side, right?" I sat down.

"Yes. I'm sorry I didn't say earlier. Just that, when you were born he ran away, and we soon hit a message saying, 'tell her about me and she will be cursed'. We never told you because we feared he wasn't lying, he wasn't much of one for fake threats," I looked at the ground and shuffled my feet.

"Oh, ok. You guys can go back to your date now, bye." I left the dining room.

As I walked back up the stairs, I heard whispering from a room. The room I was forbidden to go into. The room that was locked. The room was Lucas's.

I went to see if my powers could open the door, when I touched the handle , the door shook furiously. It opened slowly, just a tiny bit open. The room was dark, no light, Exocet for the small amount illuminating off of my necklace. I heard the door shut. I turned to see a smile in the dark, and the dark red eyes that they belonged to, the ones Cassidy told me about.

My eyes widened as the figure snapped their fingers, turning on a candle in a corner. Just enough to see his face. He had blonde hair and a similar face all structure to my dad, his eyes made all the good in my body weaken. I could tell it was him.

"Hi," He smiled even wider.

"Um... Hey?" I waved an awkward wave.

He laughed an evil laugh that rang throughout the room. I heard the soft yells of my parents calling my name.

I ran past him and to the door, trying to unlock it, I even tried my powers, but it didn't work.

"Give up, Quinn. Join me on the winning side, I've been watching you from a young age, trust me, you look great in black."

I turned and looked into his eyes, getting enough strength to say, "I don't look great in black. I look fabulous in it."

He laughed and nodded. "Exactly, join me, grab my hand and everything you ever wanted can be yours."

"Even that new album mom won't buy me?" I walked towards him.

"Yes, even that." He grinned and chuckled.

"No! Never!" I stepped back.

"Then you leave me no choice," the smile faded and he raised his arm.

He whispered something in Romanian, the language my family speaks. "Posedă ei."

Possess her.

I slammed into the door behind me, smashing it into pieces. Soon, my vision became darker, and when I looked at my hair, it had gray ends. I got up and went to my room. I grabbed the picture of me and the Carters on the first day of 5th grade.

No, I love this picture!

SMASH. The glass broke, cutting my ankles, but I didn't feel anything, not even sadness.

I went to the picture of my pet fish that 'drowned'.

SMASH. Gone.

I wanted to cry, but I couldn't. I didn't feel emotion, I only had my thoughts, the rest was possessed by my own brother.

Fine, if you are gonna possess me, just please, don't fail any of my classes!

Then the full effect happened, I couldn't even hear my thoughts, my vision went blank, and I could hear the soft sound of a funeral march playing.

This is it. I'm dead.
