Too Late

**Cassidy's POV**

After hours of long travel to get to the Dark Kingdom, we finally arrived.

It was dark and dreary. Abandoned and crumbling buildings were all around. Dark trees dropped as the branches fell off. It was dark. Street lights flickered on and off with an eery glow.

"Well this isn't creepy at all," Kamer said sarcastically.

I rolled my eyes and scoffed.

After an hour of making our way through the creepy kingdom, we made it to the castle.

The door creaked open as Everly pushed it open.

"We're in..." I muttered.

We went through many corridors silently calling Quinn's name.

We turned a corner and ran into someone.

Everyone stopped and we were scared, that it was Shad Rock, and I closed my eyes tight.

"Who are you?" A girl voice with a slight southern accent said.

I opened my eyes to see a girl with short blonde hair looking at us confused.

"We were looking for our friend, Quinn? We want to save her before she turns completely evil," Everly said.

"Oh, I know her, I'm Melody, I work for her brother, come with me, I will explain where she is," her expression dropped as she said this.

"Wait, what happened to her?" Kamer stopped walking, then continued when Melody didn't stop.

"Darling, I'm sorry but it might be too late, she's on her way with your orbs to see another heir to a throne," She sighed and got some tea out of a cupboard.

We waited in silence letting that sit in.

"Wait what heir? There isn't another heir to see, the other is dead!" I said, breaking the silence as she handed me some tea.

"Um, yeah, Lucas-I mean Shad Rock- didn't kill off the entire population of the Ice Kingdom, so he sent Quinn over," Melody sipped some tea.

"Sent her over to do what?" Kamer asked.

"You can't piece it together, can you? She was sent over to kill him," she sighed.

"We need to get over there and help her!" I got up and said.

"It's not a girl, it's a male... The only male heir, other than Shad Rock but he turned evil and left," Melody said.

"Wait, he's a dude?" Kamer said.

"Yep! I'm coming with you, though!" She turned.

"Well let's go before it's too late!" With that we left to find Quinn and stop her.
