1 week later
There were hunters everywhere, most of them in gear. They all moved away like a sea of smoke, a shadow to an unknown light source.
Eve still had the power and respect of the Magi Hunter, even as she walked down the halls of the hunters legion flanked on both sides by werewolves.
The meeting had been a long one, and Eve couldn't wait to get out of this place again. Her uncle Gregory had been here as well, to help her with her case. As they parted she had promised him he would be welcome to visit at any time.
"You'll be okay?" Her uncle had asked her, and she had given him a gentle smile in return.
"Don't you worry about me, Uncle. I'll be just fine." Eve had reassured him, to which he had chuckled.
"So much like your father, little huntress." He had cupped her cheek before giving her a good hug, and with that their ways had parted.
Of course with an additional promise of a new book from Gregory Carnikel's side.
The hallways of this mansion she once had called home, almost seemed to stretch on forever now. Connor stood waiting for them by the huge double doors leading outside, with all of Eve's belongings with him. She wasn't going to be back here to live, so she might as well move all she owned to the place she was ready to call home.
"Ready to go home, my love?" Hailen whispered in her ear as he came up behind her, his arms encircling her waist from behind, puller her flush against him, leaving a feather light kiss on the intricate pattern on her neck.
"More than ever." She whispered back, tilting her head to the side and turning a little, earning herself a quick kiss.

"You're sure you want to go through with this?" Hailen's voice was soft as they lay side by side, turned to face each other, Hailen's hand resting on her hip, drawing comforting circles on her exposed skin.
"It is all I've ever known, Hailen. It was my life for years, and I'm just not ready to let go of it just yet." Eve sighed, remembering the deal they had made during the meeting at the hunters legion.
'The Magi Hunter will still be permitted to hunt as she has done in the past, but all missions must be approved by and go in coherence with the laws which is upheld by Hailen the king of the Loup Garous. Beyond this she is allowed to hunt as she wishes, according to her pledge to the hunters legion.'
"It won't be as before." Eve reasoned, scotching closer to Hailen, who had been gazing down at his hand on her hip.
"I know. It's just the whole irony of this, added to how you resisted our bond in the beginning. I'm just anxious of how the other's will react." He confessed, finally meeting her gaze, but her eyes had become distant, her eyes furrowed.
"I resisted?" She asked, seemingly coming back to him.
"You don't remember, do you?"
"It's a blur..." She confessed, lifting her hand to caress his cheek. The sleeve of the oversized shirt she was wearing, slipped down, revealing the black inked tattoo of a dagger almost moving on the surface of her skin.
"I'm sorry." She whispered, a single tear escaping her eyes, but Hailen was quick to kiss is away.
"Don't be. It's not your fault." He assured her as he pulled her close, his arms securely around her as she snuggled closer, holding on as tight as he was holding her. He placed a loving kiss at the top of her head, and she hummed lovingly in reply.
Truth to be told, Eve never completely puzzled her memory back together. Some memories having disappeared in the sea of memories, memories she had remembered so well before it all. She had been apologizing a lot too, feeling as if the whole ordeal was her fault.
In public she might still be the strong and unbreakable huntress of magic everyone knew her as, but little by little she would crumble and as soon as she was in the company of those she loved it would all break down for her.
Magic can bind even the strongest of minds and the most powerful of creatures. It is not a force to be meddled with.
Not even for the unbeatable Magi Hunter.
