The upcoming chapters are a tribute to my favorite series on Wattpad, "The Season" and "The Debutante" by MissKatey

"Very Well, my lady, keep going." The tutoress I employed, Miss Abney said as I practiced walking gracefully with a book my head. She was a charming woman in her late twenties.

A knock on the door to my study was heard. I took hold of the book, "Come in."

Alex walked in with something rested on a silver tray, "Pardon me for my intrusion, my lady. A letter from the Buckingham Palace was just received."

I picked up the letter on the tray, and Alex went back out the room. I went to my desk and got a letter knife to open it. Inside it revealed a card of invitation. There was a little crown above all the writings, and then it read an invitation to the upcoming Season.

"This is an invitation to the forthcoming Season from Her Majesty." I informed my curious tutoress.

"That is very good news. We must at once prepare you for this!" She said excitedly.

"Yes. But will have to do so next time, as I believe this is the end of our lesson. I must not keep my shooting teacher waiting."

"Oh, of course! I have such an easy time teaching milady that I don't realize the passing of time!"

I chatted with her as I escorted her to the door of the manor.

"I thank you for your time once again, Miss Abney." I said.

"You are more than welcome. I never teach ladies such age, it is a breath of fresh air from the noisy and uncontrollable children!"

"I suppose under normal circumstances noble ladies would have been married off to some other nobility by my age." I agreed.

"But of course, my lady, you are under no normal circumstances.... May I just ask.... Where are you from.... and where is your family?"

My gaze darkened at the sound of that question. Curiosity kill the cat huh?

I smiled, "Please don't ask about more then what you need to know."

Her eyes widened, "I apologize for stepping over the line!"

I merely shook my head. After escorting her out of my manor it was time for my shooting lesson.

"This is rather reminiscent. The Season was how Baroness Burnett met the Baron." Alex said as he carried my luggage onto the carriage.

"I heard that they met in a party, but I did not know that it was part of the Season." I said.

The carriage soon set of for the Buckingham Palace. I smiled when the familiar building came into sight. It looked all the more magnificent now that it was prepared for the Season. I was shown by the palace staff to a room in the guests wing, where I will be staying for the duration of the Season.

I was fussed by the ladies' maids on my hair and make up in preparation for the inaugural ball tonight. I was sat in front of the vanity table for so long that my back was beginning to be sore.

Finally, everything - my makeup, hair, corset, jewelry, gown -  was in place, and I was ready for the ball.

I was lead to the front of a grand double door, where many ladies already gathered, chatting to one another. I felt slightly out of place since I did't know anyone here. But suddenly I spotted a familiar face.
