After arriving back at Ciel's London town house, I went straight back to my room with the bags of things I got for the Winter ball and the fake Funtom toy ship. I set down the bags onto my desk and started examining the ship. Some of the wood on the outside was slightly chipped showing that it was not of a good quality. And its coloring was slightly faint as well. Of course, it was a fake after all.

Taking a breathe, I yanked as hard as I could and ripped open the roof of the ship. In the process of doing so, some small toy animals fell out of the inside of the ship. However, those were not what I was looking for. I walked closer to the light source trying to get better lighting to the inside of the toy ship.

There was a bluish gleam. Bingo. I reached inside the ship and felt around for the thing that emitted the blue light. My hand then came across a smooth cold metal circle. I fished it out with my index finger. And there it was, the Shard of Hope.

I held up my left hand and let it slid back onto the end of my finger. It somehow fitted perfectly. Perfect. Suddenly I heard a tune faintly, the tune of London Bridge. No, I didn't hear it. It was more like as if it was playing in my head. I looked around, and out the windows, but there was nothing out of the usual. The tune died down after a while. I tidied up the toy animals that were scattered around the floor and put them back into the ship.

When it was an hour before we have to leave for the ball. I laid out the gown I got on top of the Queen size bed. It was an amazing red and white gown that was beautifuly made.

I then got the make up product out and started doing my make up. I powdered my face to cover up blemishes. I then contoured it so to define my features and my cheekbone. I applied eyeliner and mascara and also smokey eye shadow around my eyes. I also filled in my eyebrows. Finally, I got out a bright blood red lip paint and applied it to my lips.

After staring myself in the mirror for a bit, I decided that I would do a high bun to go with the look. I tied my hair up with a red ribbon. Deciding my look was done, I got my gown and slipped it on, carefully not ruining my hair and make up. I also out a white lacy choker around my neck. It has got a small silver key in the middle as decoration. Remembering I heard somewhere that in Victorian era, only people like prostitutes paint their nails, I did not paint mine even though I badly wanted to paint then black just like Sebastian's.

I remembered that I still have the ring of the Hope piece on. I took it off and wanted to hide it. But the gown had no pockets so I hid in it in a the most secure place a girl could hide things- between my boobs. I slipped the ring into my corset.

There was a knock on my door, "Milady? It's Sebastian. Undertaker's carriage to the ball is here."

"Okay, thanks, Sebastian. I'm ready, you may open the door." I did a final check of my look in the full length mirror and walked out of the door. Sebastian was not dressed up, he was in his usual black butler suit.

He looked at me and smiled, "Milady, I do have to say you look gorgeous today."

"Thanks, Sebastian. But why aren't you dressed up? You are going as well, aren't you?"

"No, I was not invited to the ball. I will only be the carriage driver to and from the ball."

"Aw, what a shame. You could have dress up as what... a demon? Yea, that would be cool, and also VERY appropriate."

He chuckled, "You do have a point, milady. But this is a ball hosted by Queen Victoria which has an open invitation to all nobles, and sadly, I am not a noble, therefore I was not invited as a guest."

We went downstairs and there Undertaker was, chatting with Ciel. I silently gasped when I saw him. He was wearing a grey suit with a red cravat. The suit showed his lean figure nicely. His long hat was now replaced by a top hat. He still has his chain of lockets around his waist and his emerald ring on his left index finger.
