I finally couldn't stand the suspense and bolted from where I was sitting behind the door. I looked back at the door to my bedchamber as I backed against the window on the other side of the room. The door knob turned.

Of course, the intruder was not able to get in since I locked it, but the metal clanked a few times as if the person was trying to force it open with brute force. Suddenly, I heard a gun shot. The door swung wide open right afterward and a part of the locking mechanism fell onto the floor.

My widened eyes darted at the person, trying to see who he was. But the intruder was clad in all black with a mask. An assassin.

"W-Who sent you?" I asked trying to sound as calm as possible.

He didn't reply. Instead, he raised his gun and pointed at me.

No. I was not going to die here. With my hand behind my back, I turned the lock on the window and backed into it. Fear shooting through every single cell of my being as I fell down from the second floor of my manor. For what seemed like millenniums, I was accelerating, slowly, yet quickly at the impending Earth.

The impact came soon after. Pain shot through my body and I could hear cracks as I landed on my back. I stared up into the sky as large drops of water fall on my face. Ah, when did it start raining? My body told me to just lay there and not move, but my mind was telling me other wise - to get up, to run, to survive.

Against the screaming of my every muscle, I pushed myself up and tried to stand. But to my absolute despair, my ankle would not let me. I slumped back onto the floor against my will. I lifted the edge of my gown slightly just to check the place where it hurt.

The instant I saw it, I knew death was inevitable for me.

My ankle was all the wrong angle. The one thing that tragicomically came to my mind was a boomerang. With this I was not going anywhere. I was rather hoping my gown would break my fall just slightly, but apparently, it did't do shit.

In my hopeless moment, a tear slid down my already wet check. Why? Why was no one here to help me? Where was Alex? Who hired this assassin? More importantly, why me?

My body slumped back onto the floor as anguishful tears continue sliding down my paled face. Even to my own surprise, laughs was beginning to come out of my lips.

So this is how it all ends huh? After all this, from coming to this world, to everything I've done after becoming a baroness. It's all pointless now. I'm going to die.

In any moments, the assassin would come, and end my life once and for all. Is there anyone in this world that would miss me? Charles? More tears gushed out as I thought of that one always cheerful earl, who I've only know for a few months, but felt like he's been there my whole life. Why? Why is this all taken away form me when it has only just began?

My whole being jolted as I heard the door to my garden open. I could't even be bother to turn to look at what was going on. All I could hear at the moment was the pattering of the rain, the deafening boom of thunder, and the sound of the boot belong to my approaching pursuer; my executor.

His looming shadow covered me as he once again raised his gun, aiming right in the middle of my forehead.

"Why?" I asked weakly, "Why?"

He was silent for a moment, but her finally spoke, "It's a job that's got to be done.... I'm sorry."

With that, he pulled the trigger.

Everything was black and red simultaneously. I was expecting this to be more painful, but it turned out, maybe dying was't as horrifying as I thought it would be. At least, it did't hurt anymore.

Everything around me was silent for a few long moments. Was this how it feels when shinigami collect your cinematic record? I wonder who was doing it. It would be quite ironic if it was someone I knew.

I could feel my consciousness fading into an ever deepening oblivion...

Suddenly my eye shot open. My hand flew up to my forehead - there was no gun wound. In fact, there was no manor, no gown, no pursuer. I was in a strangely familiar place, as if I've seen this in my dream.

I sat up, feeling no pain in my body whatsoever. Underneath me was a soft, and blue. A bed?

In front of me, was a thing that I felt I was missing so much... a laptop.

On it, an all too familiar series played - Black Butler.

And with a shot of bewilderment, I realized.

It was all a dream.
