Chapter 29

Lionpaw watched as the last Sunclan warriors stalked out of camp, and the elders, queens and Pigeonfeather returned. He looked around camp to find many cats tending to their own wounds. In the corner of his eye, he watched as Cloudfoot and Splash nuzzled eachother.

Lionpaw smiled. Those two really did belong together. "Lionpaw!" Two familiar voice chirped, and Lionpaw turned to see his best friends, Honeypaw and Coalpaw race up to him. "We did it, Lionpaw! We defeated Sunclan!" Honeypaw chirped.

Lionpaw chuckled and nodded. "Yeah! I cant believe its all over! We can get back to our apprenticeship" Lionpaw agreed. "Not quite!" Wildstar interjected, as the three apprentices turned to her. " I have discussed it with your mentors and they all agree, its time for a very special ceremony!" Wildstar mewed proudly."Y-you mean?" Lionpaw tremebled excitedly, as he heart thumped a thousand beats per second.

Wildstar smiled and hopped up onto Highrock. "I, Wildstar, leader of Fireclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn" Wildstar yowled, as many cats looked up at her excitedly.

"Lionpaw, Coalpaw, Honeypaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" Wildstar asked. "We do!" The three yelled instantaneously.

"Then from this moment on, Coalpaw, you shall be known as Coalheart! Starclan honours you for your skills and welcomes you as a full member of Fireclan!" Wildstar mewed. Wildstar hopped down from highrock, and placed her head ontop of Coalheart's. Coalheart licked Wildstar's shoulder, and backed away.

"From this moment on, Honeypaw, you shall be known as Honeyblaze! Starclan honours you for your smarts and welcomes you as a full member of Fireclan!" Wildstar yowled. Like before, Wildstar placed her head ontop of Honeyblaze's. Honeyblaze swiftly licked her leaders shoulder and backed away.

Wildstar turned to Lionpaw. Lionpaw smiled excitedly, and glanced over at Cloudfoot, who was watching proudly from the crowd.

"And Lionpaw, from this moment on you shall be known as Lionstorm! Starclan honours you for your Courage and Welcomes you as a full member of Fireclan. Wildstar placed her head ontop of Lionstorm's and he swiftly licked her shoulder.

"Lionstorm! Coalheart! Honeyblaze!" The clan cheered. "Tonight you shall hold a vigil, to honour Starclan" Wildstar yowled. Lionstorm nodded excitedly, and turned towards his friends. Their eyes were shining proudly, and Lionstorm couldn't be more proud himself.
