Warrior Cats : Courage

Chapter 4

"Lionpaw, Honeypaw, Greywhisker. Hunting patrol now!" Cloudfoot ordered. Lionpaw nodded to Coalpaw and waited by the gorse tunnel for the rest of the patrol. Honeypaw sat down beside him. "Humph Traitor" She growled. Lionpaw rolled his eyes. "Just because my father was a traitor doesn't mean I am" Lionpaw growled, as he turned away from her.

Honeypaw was just about to say something when Cloudfoot and Greywhisker came by. "Ready to go?" Greywhisker asked. Lionpaw nodded in reply, getting to his paws. "Let's get going" Cloudfoot mewed, as he began to walk towards the gorse tunnel.

They walked through Fireclan territory until Cloudfoot stopped and turned towards them. "Lionpaw, I need you to hunt by Four-Stones" Cloudfoot ordered. Lionpaw nodded eagerly. "Honeypaw, hunt by the river" Cloudfoot ordered. Honeypaw nodded. "Go" Greywhisker said, resulting in the apprentices running off in different directions.

Lionpaw wondered why Cloudfoot sent him so far away from camp. He didn't question it. He soon came to fourstones and began his hunt. He caught a couple mice before a horrible stench filled his scent glands. Deciding it was time to leave, he grabbed his prey and attempted to leave. Only, to be stopped by fierce brown eyes.

Lionpaw back away, as the rogue came closer. "W-what are you doing on Fireclan territory!?" Lionpaw tried to sound fierce but found himself stuttering. No answer. "I said, what are you doing on Fireclan territory" Lionpaw growled, gaining confidence.

Lionpaw unsheathed his claws, preparing for an attack. "I won't ask you again! What are you doing on Fireclan territory" Lionpaw insisted. The rogues claws unsheathed. Lionpaw's green orbs narrowed, into furious slits. He prepared himself to pounce, only to realise there was more than one rogue. Lionpaw's pelt bristled.

How was he supposed to fight four fully grown warriors? He didn't have any time to ponder as a she-cat pinned him to the ground. Lionpaw hissed in pain as the she-cat dug her claws into his shoulders. Acting on instinct, he kicked her away, and she hit highrock.

The next warrior pounced, but Lionpaw was quicker, he slashed his claws against the rogues nose. The rogue fell back and hit his head against the floor. The last two rogues attacked together. Lionpaw prepared himself for pain, but it never came. He opens his eyes to see Honeypaw standing over the rogues unconcious bodies.

"Traitor!" She hissed at Lionpaw. Lionpaw shook his head furiously. "N-no, I didnt..." Lionpaw was cut off as Honeypaw hissed. "Wait till Cloudfoot finds out" Honeypaw growled. Lionpaw didn't reply as the she-cat from before loomed over Honeypaw. "Honeypaw look out!" Lionpaw hissed, as the she-cat sank her teeth in honeypaw's shoulder.

Honeypaw cried out in pain. "Honeypaw!" Lionpaw mewed horrified. Lionpaw glared at the rogue. Unsheathing, his claws he pounced on the she-cat. The she-cat attempted to shake him off but Lionpaw continued to hiss and scratch the she-cat. Honeypaw was only recovering from the bite, and watched as Lionpaw fended off the she-cat.

The she-cat fell to the ground unconcious. Lionpaw yowled victoriously, only to find himself surrounded by three more rogues. They glared hatefully at him. Lionpaw hissed and prepared himself to pounce, when an unfamiliar voice screeched. "Sunclan retreat!"

Instantly, the rogues began to back away, leaving the unconcious she-cat with the apprentices. Lionpaw walked over to Honeypaw. "Are you okay?" He asked. Honeypaw was silent. "Honeypaw?" He asked. "DONT think we're friends just because I saved you" Honeypaw snapped scornfully. "And she's back" Lionpaw rolled his eyes.

Lionpaw walked over to the rogue and began to drag her by the scruff. "What are you doing?" Honeypaw snapped impatiently. "She needs help" Lionpaw grunted, as he dragged her unconcious body. "She attacked you!" Honeypaw snapped. "Yes, and now I am getting her to a medcat" Lionpaw growled sarcastically. "Now help me move her!" Lionpaw ordered.

Honeypaw looked like she was about to open her mouth again, but decided against it. "Tch" she growled, as she helped Lionpaw carry the unconcious body of a rogue.
