"Come along, Lionpaw" Cloudfoot ordered, as they traveled out of camp. "What are we doing today?" Lionpaw mewed eagerly. Cloudfoot chuckled. "I'm going to show you the territory today" Cloudfoot explained. Lionpaw nodded, a little disappointed. He was hoping to get right into battle training. Cloudfoot seemed to notice Lionpaw's disappointment.

"Battle training is tomorrow, Lionpaw" Cloudfoot promised. Lionpaw looked up at his mentor. "Really?" Lionpaw asked hopefully. Cloudfoot nodded. Lionpaw's eyes filled with joy but he said nothing. They walked along, until the came to the river.

Lionpaw looked curiously into the river. "What can you smell?" Cloudfoot asked. Lionpaw looked up, and opened his mouth, letting the air hit his scent glands. He sniffed the air, the smell of Fish and salt tickled his nose. "We are on the border between Fireclan and Iceclan" Lionpaw reported. "Very good" Cloudfoot purred.

(Timeskip)

Lionpaw and Cloudfoot walked around the terrtitory until they came to Four-Stones. "This is where the gatherings take place, Lionpaw" Cloudfoot explained. "What can you smell?" Cloudfoot whispered. Lionpaw opened his mouth and sniffed. A familiar yet, terrifying scent filled his nostrils. Lionpaw started coughing. Cloudfoot tenses, making Lionpaw realise, that whatever that stench was, wasn't good.

"We're heading back to camp Lionpaw, and whatever you do don't stop, until we get home" Cloudfoot commanded. "But-" Lionpaw began but was cut off. "Do as I say, Lionpaw" Cloudfoot growled. Lionpaw was taken aback, but didn't question his mentor. He got to his paws and began walking back to camp.

Halfway home, Lionpaw realized the stench seemed to be following them. Cloudfoot's pace quickened, and Lionpaw has to jog to keep up with the deputy. "What's going on, Cloudfoot?" Lionpaw asked, worriedly. Cloudfoot didn't answer.
