Chapter 20

How y'all doing? Good? That's good.

Sitting in home room I ate my donuts from Shipleys as the boring announcements blared through the speakers.

"Don't forget about the school car wash that-" I rolled my eyes.

Nobody listened to the announcements so later someone was going to ask about what was being announced. Sometimes you get a cool teacher that just tells you what you want to know or you get the ass hole. The one who says "Had you been paying attention you would know." It's like obviously I wasn't so tell me again.

"Give me a donut Judy."

"You don't need anymore donuts Rick. You a donut away from labor."

Everybody around us laughed as he smack his teeth.

"She really want me she trying to front."

"Ain't she dating Kam fine ass?" Some girl I didn't even care to know her name spoke up.

"They Bestfriends I think." Ashley chimed in.

"No they hooked up I'm sure their a thing now."

They continued discussing me as if I wasn't there.

"Hey dumb asses how about y'all just ask her." Brian spoke up just about as annoyed with them as I was.

"Thank you Brian atleast someone has sense here besides me." I gave him a polite smile which he returned.

Brian was the quiet kid that kept to himself but was really cool once you got to know him. He rode his skateboard just about everywhere and kept a hoodie on regardless of the weather.

"Now." I turned to the minions. "Kamden is off limits so y'all need not worry about him." I grinned as they all mugged me.

"Whatever."

"Aww why so serious?" I laughed enjoying my breakfast.

"Quiet down guys there's another announcement and this one is important." Mrs.Greene shushed us as her buck tooth ass made her way to her seat.

"This morning we heard the extremely sad news that Melvin Hickby died last night. This is the only information we have officially received on the circumstances surrounding the event. I know we are all saddened by Melvin's death and send our condolences to his family and friends. Crisis stations will be located throughout the school today for students who wish to talk to a counselor. Information about the funeral will be provided when it is available, and students may attend with parental permission."

I just sat in my seat not really feeling much of anything. Everyone else had began to cry and Mrs.Greene was so hysterical she had to leave the room.

"Shit crazy." Brian mumbled shaking his head.

Grabbing my things I got up from my seat leaving the classroom.

I didn't feel any way towards Melvin's death honestly as harsh as it may sound. I just had a feeling I knew exactly where Kam went yesterday afternoon.

I was in class trying to get the answers to my math homework so I could turn it in next period.
