Chapter Two

*Mitchelle Starwarts*

"What did you just say?" she asked obviously taken aback.
"You heard me. It's over" Shane stated repeatedly clenching and unclenching his jaw.
"You don't mean that right? You're just shitting me." Jade chuckled dryly.
"Never have i been more serious."
"You're breaking up with me because of some random little brat?" she sounded like she couldn't believe it.
Shane shut his eyes and exhaled as if trying to prevent himself from doing something drastic. "Don't test my patience Jade. The next time you insult that little girl, you'll have yourself to blame for what i might do to you."
"I can't believe this. You're a worthless bastard Shane White." with that said she grabbed her handbag and left in a hurry. Shane went the opposite direction and the cafeteria was all buzzing with noise again as the entertainment was gone.
"Wow. Can't believe that just happened." Ayla stated. Tossing a chip into her mouth.
"Me neither." Ellen agreed.
I was finding it hard to take in too.
Shane single........Shane single...... Shane single.
it kept running through my mind. I couldn't believe it. Shane is now single.
"Sorry i'm late." Isabella said as she plopped onto the seat beside me.
"I was with Nate at the baseball court and we lost track of time." she narrated, skillfully unwrapping her sandwich. "What did i miss?"
"The breakup between Shane and Jade. it was so cool. If only you were a few minutes earlier you'd have seen the whole thing." Ellen explained.
Bells' eyes looked like they were about to pop out. "No way"
"Its true. We were all witnesses to it." Ayla approved.
Bells directed her gaze at me. "This is your go ahead Mitchie." she nudged me alittle.
"What? No." i said
"Why not? He's single now and most probably devastated. You have to go console him, make a move, show him you're interested."
"I don't think he'd like that. He already has girls in the waiting room. Him being single won't last long trust me " I said sipping my soda. Bells sighed in surrender and I smiled. I love my friends alot and i appreciate their efforts but if Shane wasn't interested in me, i wasn't going to force myself on him.
" Ok Ayla don't look back cause i think Julian's totally checking you out" Ellen explained.
"What the..." Ayla started before glancing over her shoulder to have a look at the guy. We all followed her gaze to the very hot football teamcaptain. Although we didn't make it obvious we were staring at him. Ayla turned away from him and giggled.
"Aahh i see what's going on here. You're warming up to the football teamcaptain huh" i teased, glad that the cards had been turned away from me to Ayla.
"What?... No" she denied, but her cheeks betrayed her as they turned rosy pink. "Really?" i asked raising an eyebrow.
"You know what? How about we talk about something else? Like how your music lessons are going Bells" Ayla said changing the topic, but the blush on her cheeks remained as evidence that she was a bad liar. We had a lively lunch, talking about anything, chaning the topic to something else every two minutes. Shane never left my mind though.
what's he doing right now? How's he feeling? Where is he? I kept torturing myself with those questions. He must not be doing well.
The bell rang. I got up and bade the girls goodbye as i headed out of the diner.

I sighed as i dragged my completely exhausted body towards the car park, to where Shane had parked his car.
I was quite happy when realised i didn't have to walk in on Shane and Jade making out passionately at the trunk of his car, or listen to her moan loudly from my room when she was in the house with Shane doing god-knows-what in his room which was just beside mine.

I was so happy i no longer had to hate her for having Shane when i longed for him more than anything, for kissing him and caressing him when i wished it was me doing that. i no longer had to be jealous of her because Shane broke up with her. He's so single.
But as i got closer to the car my happiness subsided, a downcast Shane sat at the drivers seat staring through the windscreen at something that obviously caught his attention. I followed his gaze until i found what he was looking at. Of course.
Jade
What a bitch she was. It had only been a few hours since Shane broke up with her and she was already making out with Kelvin Scott, best basketball player in college. I sighed and got into the passengers seat.
Just as soon as i got in, Shane started the car and headed out. It didn't occur to me how mad he was until he almost knocked out the both of them.
I glanced at him when we got out of school and was in the safety of the road. His hands were so tightly clenched around the stirring wheel that his knuckles turned white. He must still really like her to be hurting this much.
"You might just burst the stirring wheel the way you're holding it. If it could talk, i'm sure it would've cursed you mercilessly" I said with a lot of humor,hoping to remove the anger from his eyes.
And i succeeded, as he broke into a small smile, his eyes lit up a little and his grip on the stirring wheel softened.
"I guess you're right. Today hasn't been good for me." he said rubbing his free hand over his face.
"If you still like her this much, why did you break up with her?" i accussed. Ok, i didn't think Jade was the ideal ģirl for him, but she màde him happy, and his happiness mattered most to me.
"I couldn't stand it... the way she treated that little girl. I couldn't stand her yelling at the poor girl, it was the only rational decision to make. Plus she lied to me, she told me she loves kids but she doesn't she hates them, i couldn't continue dating her knowing she hated kids." he explained.
"Then get over her. They are alot of girls who would simply die for you to notice them, find someone else." I encouraged, i don't know why i did that knowing that his next girl won't be me
You're so stupid Mitchelle.
He rounded our driveway and put off the engine. He turned to me and smiled. "You're right. I will. Thanks lil sis"
Lil sis. I hated those words so much. They caused me nothing but heartbreak.
I managed to smile back though as Shane leaned in to kiss my forehead.

Does Ayla have anything going on with Julian? I mean it was suspicious for her to just change the conversation like that am i right? And what do you think of Jade,such a bitch huh?
