*Emory College, Atlanta.*
Leo and I have been dating for weeks now. We fell into a regular routine. We had lunch and dinner everyday together and he became my personal chauffeur. He took me to college and back. My dad thought he was a very nice kid and Daina thinks he's sweet. The girls were glad I gave him a chance, they thought he was helping me forget Shane.
The truth was that he wasn't, Shane was always on my mind. I always had dreams of him and i together. Though we still weren't in good talking terms. Who am i kidding. We weren't talking at all. We hardly saw each other. He avoided me like a plague and it hurt me. It hurt me so much because i was in love with him.
Though Leo was really sweet to me and i really liked him. I couldn't stop thinking about how different from Shane he was. Yes, i'd admit his romantic, funny, and really nice. He wasn't Shane and i wasn't in love with him.
Drrrrriiiiiiinnnnnggg!! Rrriiiinnnngg!!
I groaned as i streched to stop that dreadful noise. When the alarm didn't stop after the first hit, I started banging it against my nightstand. It eventually stopped at the peace of silence came back. But the damage had already been done and i couldn't go back to the lovely dreamworld i'd been rudely brought out of by the alarm clock.
I sighed and just laid on my back for a while. Staring at the ceiling with one arm resting on my abdomen and the other, over my forehead.
It was the last day of college today before the christmas break. Christmas was only two weeks away. It seemed promising. It was the first christmas we were sharing with the Whites and my dad was going overboard with the interior decoration. He had a party planned for Boxing day as it was also the anniversary of the day he proposed to Daina.
Leo and his mum were spending christmas in Baltimore with his grandparents. I'd met his mum. She was a really nice person. She just went a little over the edge sometimes and i couldn't blame her. She'd gone through a lot.
He was leaving Atlanta in two days and wanted to spend his last days with me. We were having dinner together tonight at his neighbourhood and i planned on giving him the Italian winter coat I bought for as a christmas gift tonight since he wasn't spending christmas here. He said he'd be back two days before new year.
I sighed as i got out of bed. I showered and dressed and was down for breakfast before eight.
Daina was already up and cooking when i walked into the kitchen. The smell of pancakes, frying bacons and white eggs filled my nose and made my mouth water at the aroma deliciousness.
"Morning Daina." I greeted simply as i sat down behind the counter-chair.
"Hey, you're up early." She said. She handed me a mug filled with freshly brewed coffee with sugar and cream.
"Thanks." i said as i collected it. I ran my nose around the steam. It smelt delicious as always. "I'm meeting with the girls. It our last time together before we go our seperate ways for christmas." I sipped my coffee.
"And where are they going?" she asked while busily flipping pancakes.
"Isabella's going to Malibu with her parents, Ayla's going on a skiing trip with Fabian and some others in her journalism class, Ellen's celebrating christmas here with Ken so is Anji with her mum." I said, helping myself to some pancakes and bacons.
"That's alot of celebration. But i guess everyone should have a reason to celebrate right?" She poured some maple syrup on my pancakes and added some eggs to my plate.
"Not Leo and his mum. It's their first christmas without his dad." I dug into the pancakes and relished the pastry sensation that tingled my taste buds. "It's so good." i managed to say with a full mouth.
She sat across me later on with a plate of her own containing the same elements as mine did.
We just sat there, ate and chatted for a while before Shane walked in.
"You've finally come down." Daina said. "Here... sit, let me serve you some breakfast."
Our eyes locked, and for an instant i thought everything was right between us. His eyes seemed to tease me, but they lacked their sparkle and glow. It seemed like he was stressed and tired. And i was going to ask if he was alright.
But i thought better of it as he glanced away from me. His jaw clenched and i knew what that meant. It meant i'd seen something i wasn't supposed to see.
My phone beeped and i knew instantly that Leo had arrived. He always texted me when he came to pick me up.
I grabbed my sling bag from the counter-table and got of the chair. "I'll be leaving now." I went over to Daina and kissed her cheek. "Thanks for the breakfast." I said and bolted out of the kitchen without looking back at Shane.

It was lunch time and this time i didn't have lunch with the Leo. I had it with the girls. Leo didn't mind, he was compesated by the dinner we were having together tonight.
"I'm really going to miss you guys." I said and i meant it. Bells was leaving today after college and Ayla was leaving tomorrow. But they promised to be back before new year's eve.
"Me too." Ellen said. "But it's going to be alot of fun at Ken's house. Since my parents aren't going to be around."
"I'm so happy you guys got back together. You two are perfect for each other." Anji stated and we all agreed.
"Yeah me too. I knew i couldn't do without him. We've been together such a long time."
We chatted all through lunch befor heading back to our various class rooms for our last classes before christmas break.
