I unlocked the door with my spare key and walked freely into the house. It was late noon and for once I was glad no one was home. I just wanted to crawl into bed and sleep my life away.

I grabbed a soda from the refrigerator and headed up to my room. The minute I dropped my purse on the bed, my phone started buzzing. I groaned as I searched for it while holding up the soda bottle between my lips.

I found it and picked up at the second ring. It was Ayla.
"What's up?" I asked, cradling the phone with my shoulder blade and my cheek to be able to open my drink.

"You won't believe what happened to me today!" She shrieked.

"Tell me" I said, taking the phone off my shoulder and putting it to my left ear.

"Well, I didn't tell you before but... Kyle Verona and I are going out."

"Isn't he that surfer we met at that beach party Mia had last year." I said, surprised that I remembered the guy.

"The same one. Turns out he works out at your mum's fitness studio. I went to check it out on Wednesday. Sorry I didn't tell you. I have to admit, the place is pretty cool... We got acquainted and between then and now, we've been on two dates. " she literally screamed and I had to hold the phone away from my ear to prevent my eardrum from damaging.

"That's great" I said, sincerely happy for her.

"Very soon, I'll be Kyle Verona's girlfriend. How cool would that be. I wonder what he's like in bed."

"Woah slow down you horny freak... Get through the dating faze first, you really don't wanna rush things like last time." I reminded her.
She had been totally infatuated with Julian, but the minute he found her boring, he dumped her.

"Yeah, yeah, always my voice of reason." she drawled and I could feel her rolling her eyes over the phone.

"Don't you roll you eyes at me young lady." I mock-scolded.

"Yes mum" she replied.

"You are unbearable"

"Kyle doesn't think so. Oh and he's coming over to my house today. He wants to meet you guys."

"How so?" I asked, gulping down some soda.

"He wants to people I spend time with. He hates competition."

"Isn't that a little too possessive, seeing you two aren't an item yet." I said.

"Hey, we've been on two dates. That should count for something right?"

"If you say so"

"So see you at seven?"

"You bet."

"Thanks, love you." then she hung up. I sighed as I put my phone on airplane mode, tossed it over to my nightstand and fell into a fitful nap.

I woke up later on, after a lovely dream I had of my mum my dad and I on a sandy beach.
It was kind of depressing, waking up to the reality that something like that could never happen. I glanced at the digital clock on my nightstand.
It was way past six. I had slept for almost four hours. So much for a short nap.

I got of the bed and rushed into the shower. I was out few minutes later and I quickly changed into a pink tank top and jeans. I brushed my hair and applied minimum make up. After taking a quick glance at the mirror. I grabbed my purse and my phone and headed out of the room.

I was met by Diana in the living room she seemed preoccupied with some work.

"Hey" I greeted, startling her in the process.
