Chapter Twenty One

I picked at my food uninterestedly. My mind was preoccupied with the events that took place earlier. I couldn't believe Leo would do something like that to me. It was totally unlike him. The image of him and Paula remained in my memory and it made me feel sick remembering it. I suddenly hated him for making me care enough to get hurt by his actions. I hated myself too for getting hurt. I liked him a lot and i'm beginning to realise that it was a stupid thing to do.

"Michelle!" Ayla yelled, snapping me out of memory lane.

"Are you gonna tell us what's got you so gloom or are you just gonna keep us hanging." Ellen said impatiently.

I sighed and dropped the fork. "I broke up with Leo."
"You what?..." they chorused.

"How?" Ellen asked.
"When?" that was Bells.
"Why?" and Anji.

I took a deep breath before talking again. "I found him with Paula in one of the classrooms. He was literally screwing her on one of the classroom chairs."

"Shit!" Ayla cursed under her breath.

"The bastard." Anji hissed.

"Why did he do that? He seemed so into you before. What happened?" Bells asked.

"According to him, he did it to get even with me for kissing Fabe on new year's eve." i told them.

"How did he know that?"

"Apparently he was there before the clock struck twelve and he saw us."

"That's bullshit. He's such a dickhead.
I can't believe he did that to you."

"Me neither." I sighed.

"If i get my hands on that good for nothing..." Ayla said through gritted teeth. I had to smile. I loved my friends, they always had my back, in good and bad times.

"So you broke it off with him?" Bells asked and I nodded. "Why be in a relationship when you guys are cheating on each other."

"You didn't cheat on him. That stuff with Fabe was a mistake. Did you tell him that?" Ayla defended.

"I guess it doesn't matter anymore." I sighed.

"Oh Mitchie. He was such a good sport, and that slippery snake. She's such a slut." Ellen said.

"You can say that again." Anji said.
I smiled despite the sadness i felt.

"I have to go you guys. Don't wanna be late for design class." I got up from the bench and took my sling bag and portfolio with me.
"See you later."

My phone beeped just as i left the diner. After two minutes of searching for it in my bag, i found it.
It was a message from Shane.

We need to talk.

I sighed and sent back.

Would you mind if i hitch a ride with you this afternoon?

He replied two seconds later.

Of course not. It'll be like old times. We could talk then right?

I texted back

If you want. I'm really not in a talking mood though.

He replied a second later

Great. I can make do with that. See you at the car park.
I inhaled deeply and walked towards my class.

I walked out of the school and headed towards the car park. Shane was there waiting for me. But so was Leo.
