We are here. Alessia Keys

"Good morning distinguished ladies and gentlemen and beautiful people of America. It is a glorious morning. The sun is shining and there is no sign of a grey cloud. This is a wonderful celebration and I am so impressed with the talent assembled in this room. We are so fortunate to be gathered together under one roof in the home of our educational partners , Emory College, to wish of the graduating class of this year.
Now they are going into the world to be their own person. It's wonderful. Join me in congratulating this young individuals and wishing them the very best."

A deafening round of applause could be heard from the extremely large audience in front of us as the Dean of administration and welfare walked elegantly off the stage.

The happiness I felt knew no bounds as I looked around the smiling faces of fellow graduates like me, all looking stylishly elegant in their graduation gowns. Everyone seated among people of their own departments and field of study on the raised platform reserved for the graduates alone. I glanced at Shane from his. He was looking at me too. We were proud of each other and ourselves for making it this far.

I looked around for my friends, all looking back at me and at themselves.
It was a beautiful day.

Leo had been giving a two year sentence, for kidnapping. His mum died of a heart attack when she heard the news. I felt sorry for him, he was alone in the world now.

Kyle was sentenced to five years in jail and one year of probation for being an accomplice to an attempted murder. Jade was giving the maximum sentence. Seven years and two years of probation. I could remember her trial like it happened yesterday. She had spat at her lawyer's face when the verdict was read and he tried to console her. She yelled and shouted at the jury and judge for being unfair and unjust. She rained curses at me promising to get back at me. It had been the worst day of my life and I had been happy to go home fall asleep in Shane's arms.

Romance spun between Fabian and Ayla. It had been shocking to hear about it. But I was happy that my two bestest friends were now happy together.

And now looking at them, seating beside each other, both being the best journalist in the college. They looked radiant and beautiful.

My gaze drifted to the crowd of good looking parents, guardians, relatives, friends and well wishers. My parents and Mandy occupied three seats in the third row. They had come early to find front seats. My mum was busy snapping away, capturing every moment while my dad waved and smiled every time my eyes met his. Mandy had already made friends with the little boy seating next to her with his parents.

Diana had come from Los Angeles, she had a swollen belly and she had come with Ted, a handsome looking movie director who she introduced as her husband. Shane had been shocked at the fact that he was going to be a brother in four months. But he was happy for his mother. She seemed to glow with happiness. He had tried to convince him to come to LA and join Ted in the movie business. But he had strongly refused, insisting that he's happiness was here in Atlanta. I was happy for that.

We bought an apartment close to my parents home with our savings and moved in together not too long before graduation. Shane had been the perfect boyfriend, lover, and cook too.

I started working full time at Belle while Shane worked at my Bounce with dreams of opening his own gym one day.

"And now, ladies and gentlemen. Join me as I call in the best graduating student from the sports and activities department. Master Shane White!"

A round of applause erupted from the crowd. Diana had tears in her eyes and so did I as the love of my life walked gracefully to the platform to give his speech.
