"What's she doing here?" He asked gravely. He looked stoned. My mum had grown pale. Diana disappeared into the background.
"She's here to see me." I said so boldly that it stunned him, and angered him all the same.
"How dare you bring her here?" He half-yelled.
"She's my mother, she has every right to be here." I said with the same tone.
"I should get going." My mum said meekly, seeing him seemed to have drained out all her color.
"No mum." I said firmly. "You are not going anywhere."
She placed her hand on mine, she was trembling and her hand was cold. "It's for the best." She said to me. She stood up and walked out passed my dad and Diana.
"Then I'm coming with you." I said as I began to walk out after her, but then my dad pulled me back by the arm so abruptly that I staggered back.
"You are not going anywhere until you explain yourself." He said so dangerously that I was almost frightened.
"There's nothing to explain. You kept me from my mother for so long, feeding me with lies, telling me she wanted nothing to do with me."
"I never lied to you."
"But you never told me the truth either. Mum told me everything."
"And you choose to believe her? She hasn't been a part of you life for eight freaking years dammit!"
"That's because you denied her the privilege to. You denied her the right to be a mother to me. You left her no choice but to find comfort in another man's arms." I said with so much spite.
"You know about the bastard child, don't you?"
Anger boiled in my every being. "Mandy is not a bastard child. She's an amazing little girl, you on the other hand are a selfish man full of hate and greed."
"Don't talk to me like that!" He thundered. He raised his hand to hit me.
"James stop!" Diana yelled which made him stop abruptly.
Silence enveloped the room.
He had raised his hand to hit me. My dad had wanted to hit me. I suddenly saw him in another light. He was no longer the dad i knew, he was a man capable of hitting his daughter. Tears sprang to my eyes and I looked away.
He walked out of the kitchen, slamming the door after him, Diana glanced at me for a second before walking out after him.
I sank into one of the kitchen chairs and dissolved into tears. I didn't understand why I was crying and I wasn't sure what it was that was making me cry, but the stream of tears kept rolling down my cheeks.
My phone vibrated beside me, I glanced at it to see who the caller was.
Fabian.
I picked up the phone.
"Hey Mitchie, I saw this cool amazing fabric online, it'll be good for your designs, wanna see it?" He asked cheerily which made me cry all the more.
"Hey, what's wrong babe?" He asked, his voice suddenly filled with concern.
"I just fought with my dad over my mum... It was awful... He almost hit me."
"He didn't, did he?" He asked
"No." I sobbed. "But it was horrible, I said awful things to him, he got so mad... I've never seem like this."
